How i did it? Well, love makes you do strange things 
Nothing special about it actualy, the ice is just a modyfied box, so is the melt water and the heart i took from an earlier work. The only thing that mabe can be special is the texture on the ice, it has both bumpmaping and displacementmping (think i used the noise map for it) they have the same map to if i remember corectly. The melt water got bump and disp to i think... it was some time since i made it...
But the devil is in the light this time, it takes a shit load of time to render

3D Studio Max R7 and VRay 1.46.something

It seems that many people use 3DSM over C4D...I'm working on C4D

I think 3DS Max is more user friendly then C4D. The choise in program is also dependent on what area your working in, for exampel a friend of mine is working whit 3D for movies and they do all there work in Maya becaus it's the best program for that area, when game developers tend to use 3DS Max.
