I also changed the end of chapter 7 (there's now a short scene with Sophia). Also, there's a little surprise on my blog if you look around a bit

Rachel looked up from her book. “You got yourself into this one.” Her eyes were mixed with annoyance and jealousy. She turned back to her book.
Isn't she worried what Alec is going to do to him?! That's being a horrible person.
What book is she reading?
The fact Alex passed out from dehydration, makes me wonder if she can be trusted to drive.
I'm just wondering how the guy with the wine curse manages to drink anything without dying of too much booze after a few days.
The touch also changes living things, so human contact becomes impossible.
Much be easy to make pretty statues though.
So we're left with the mystery of the guardian.
And I wonder if the guardian has any talent for cleaning up messes left by the crystal or not.

One thing is certain IMHO, I doubt whoever made or used the crystal or the curse EVER bothered to come up with a cure. The kind of person who'd do something like this wouldn't be interested in turing people BACK. And a cook has no interest in how to turn a hamburger back into the cow.
