Hello everyone!

I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone again by trying to make DDLC fanart. I've wanted to draw something for this game ever since I saw it back in 2017 but I suck at drawing anime characters, so I kept setting the idea aside for later.

I finally did it though and.. yeah, Monika looks strange in this artwork. It's the best I could do for now but I would like to try and draw something DDLC-related again later since I'm not too proud of this one honestly. :P

Anyways. DDLC.. Oh boi, what a spooky game. The story of how I first found it is a bit funny, so let me cut a long story short and tell you guys in a TL;DR:

TL;DR: A friend of mine trolled me and convinced me DDLC was a normal dating sim shortly after it released, so I went to watch it that night after he persuaded me into checking it out. I had my guard down and was getting cozy until I saw the Sayori hanging scene right as the clock hit 3:AM and I was absolutely terrified. After some days passed, I went to watch again then Yuri, who I liked the most, ragequit life too. I then saw the ending and I now have a primal fear of Monika.

I never said this before, but I actually like DDLC and it's fandom quite a bit despite me rarely making any fanart for the game. I have a pretty strange opinion on Monika though.. One that many of my friends think is funny.

A lot of fans like Monika but I tend to feel a bit uneasy when I see her.. Listen, I can explain-

After I encountered DDLC for the first time at 3:AM thinking it was a normal dating sim, I was pretty shocked. The ending shocked me too because it was the last thing I expected in a game like this, so I guess you can understand why it scared me as well as it did.

I must admit, Monika's a pretty interesting character though.

She's clearly trying to fix some of her mistakes in DDLC+ but honestly... after being shocked by the original ending, I don't think I will stop being at least a little creeped out by her presence. That's actually the reason I depicted her the way I did in this drawing. (the cracks on her face were a detail I took from her jumpscare, which scared me pretty well back then.)

Team Salvato are seriously talented for creating such an experience. I can't wait to see what they do with Monika if she shows up in some new game they make. This sentient AI stuff she has going on is very interesting and I'd like to learn more about it.

So.. What are your thoughts? Do you think Monika's kind or creepy?
