FINALLY got around to designing the lunaverse version of Bast XD

If you didn't know already, the world Sphinx comes from is an alternate earth where Egypt became the dominate empire and is the most powerful force in the world. It's also a version of that reality where the Egyptian gods are very real.
I also really love how this picture came out btw lol

An interesting side of this I wanted to explore is how, over time in these ancient cultures, these gods and some of their stories did change. Bast is one of those gods that changed in the religion over time, so since this is a more "modern egypt" I wanted to actually make the god's stories ADVANCE rather then just stay where they were originally. I have more to explore in that aspect in detail, but lets just talk about Bast's personality in this world. (Meaning do not use this info as historical reference since it's not what youll find researching history XD)

Bast, goddess of motherhood, cats, and women's secrets, evolves to be a very powerful representation of queens and royalty. She becomes a symbol of luxury and femininity and becomes often worshiped by mothers wishing for children as well as women who generally wish for confidence and success. Quite prideful and elegant, she grows to be one of the more widely worshiped goddesses across the many Egyptian kingdoms in the empire.

She takes quite an interest in Kamilah, the controversial princess. Kamilah was of course one of her many main worshipers and Bast was intrigued by Kamilah's charm and wit. This increased as Kamilah became a Pharaoh (Pharaohs are almost always kept in the minds of gods). Kamilah's reign had a tragic end as she was over thrown and chased out of her home and city. Bast wouldn't have cared, had it not been for the fact that the man who'd taken charge was an infamous pharaoh she wasn't too fond of for a number of reasons. Bast feeling as if her pride had been indirectly attacked and wanting his downfall (more out of spite) decided to approach Kamilah with the offer of great power, turning her into "Sphinx". As the story goes, Sphinx doesn't exactly succeed in taking her kingdom back and instead sort of... accidentally lead to it being burned to the ground and almost half the population dead and the other half forced to flee. Bast had half succeeded as the other Pharaoh was now dead as well, but she was greatly disappointed in Sphinx's mess. She essentially "disowned" and distanced herself for her mistake, leaving Sphinx with some pretty hefty issues that carry over into her story XD
