Awesome expression . Both menacing and slow-witted at the same time. Laborious attention to detail. That's what I call an Ogre. Great stuff.

wow man, im just getting into sculpting and seem to have a knack for it but that texturing blows me away, what kind of tools are you using?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ThomasKain In reply to jake1220 [2011-02-16 05:04:24 +0000 UTC]

Thanks man! I use a pretty huge variety of tools and a few handmade ones as well. I recommend checking out www.sculpt.com. Fine-tipped Kemper Tools and Porter Tools are great brands you can find there.

I also use a variety of dental tools that are typically used to make dentures and other dental appliances. You can find those at any dental tool supplier (and even Amazon has a bunch). The way I achieve the really tiny wrinkles is generally with a disassembled pet brush. I lightly drag the metal teeth along the oil-based clay and either heat the area to soften the strokes, or lightly brush Turpenoid over the area. Overlapping the stokes in "X" and "Y" shaped patterns will mimic the patterning of natural wrinkles with practice. Hope that helps you out!
