Description GAAAAAH I CAN'T STOP!!  They're so messy but so much fun, and that might be what she said!

My buddy does a LOT of stuff like this, and I think I'm beginning to understand the appeal...You can kind of create an entire little pocket world in every scene, riffing on the variations in plants and terrain to create a viable (?) microcosmic biome.

I've also really embraced 's advice to envision the scene or environment as filled with some sort of fluid medium, a liquid or gas that's being displaced as you create the forms.  It gives more of a sense of weight and volume to the solid environmental elements--or so I feel, at least.  : p

Really nice! I'm currently experimenting with alien flora landscapes too.
By the way, is that Jabba's face on the bottom right?

It is!
Oh, I haven't uploaded the drafts yet, and I probably won't, since they're part of a top secret graphic novel project.

Lol, that totally wasn't advice! Just introspection!

I'm glad you took the idea and ran with it, though --- the results are wonderful! :3

I wouldn't trash them, unless you planned on working with them later. They are useful, at the very least, to worldbuilders who might need inspiration or ideas to flesh out whatever world they are developing.

Cool stuff, by the way. Same goes for those fungus pics you had up earlier.

Thanks for your input, Steven!  Gosh, that's an interesting point, that they might be useful worldbuilding refs.  Kind of motivates me to pin down some of the other variants I had in mind...I was sketching moar plants earlier today anyways just so I wouldn't forget them.

Oh, and I really don't "trash" any of my drawings, I'm kind of a compulsive hoarder in that way...Worst I'll do is move them to my dA Scrapbook, which is what I do with most of my sketches and unfinished drawings.  More stuff there than in my actual gallery.  : p

That's an interesting thought on backgrounds - I suck at them myself. These turned out very nice. Going to paint them up?

Oh, thank you!  I'd recommend it as an exercise, it definitely makes environments and backgrounds "fun" rather than "a chore," which also gives them more life, I think.

HMMM, I hadn't even considered painting them but now I'm curious!
