Description Another transforming dinarthropod with a multi-stage life cycle, converting in this case from a herbivorous to a carnivorous phase seasonally or otherwise depending on relative environmental resource availability. TOP and MIDDLE show the herbivorous head with the neck lowered and elevated, respectively, while BOTTOM illustrates the sauropodomorph neck fully rotated beneath the body to trigger the eversion of the carnivorous theropodian head.

This is simply fantastic! I really like that giraffe weevil-like neck configuration it’s got going on!
The fact that one head would always be tucked away leads to some interesting questions... especially what happens to the inactive one...
Would it have a brain per head that switch over command when they change and the one tucked away would assume other functions or does it just have a single brain somewhere in the rotational axis of the neck ?

You know, my response to this changes constantly and varies considerably from creature to creature (possessing this kind of "alternating/relay bicephalic" configuration) depending on many factors, probably including mood and phase of the moon, lolololol!  Short answer--I usually assume either

1]  two "brains," with one brain going offline/dormant ("hibernating") while the other is in ascendency (active, dominant, however you want to define it); OR

2]  there is a central "primary" brain, in either one head or the other OR in an embedded location somewhere in the body, with each head having complex nerve ganglia similar to the specious stegosaurian "secondary brain" helping to coordinate sensory reactions and motor response.

Or... it has a very loose brain that wanders from head to head...
