Wow. Looking at a bunch of your artworks I was going to say that they are very conceptual, but then I saw on your profile it says your an "Illustrator and concept artist."So, yeah, really cool ideas. I love the ambivalence of the visor opening on this one.

Would you authorize me to use this image in a free textbook (pdf) I am preparing for my Spanish literature students? The text (a brief anthology) is titled Legends and Archetypes of Spanish Romanticism and it includes a legend titled "The Devil's Cross," by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, about a haunted suit of armor. This piece would be a good image to accompany the story because of the ambivalence of the knight's attitude. I am preparing the book as part of my university's Open Access Textbook initiative (website: pdxscholar.library.pdx.edu/pdx… ). The book will be available as a pdf from that website; there will be no print distribution. As the book is intended for my university students, I expect about 50 downloads per year, although the website is open to everyone.

If you were to allow me to use your artwork, it would be accompanied by a statement of attribution and copyright: "Scribbly Knight by Thomas Wievegg.  © 2015 Thomas Wievegg. Used with permission. thomaswievegg.deviantart.com".

It's a trap!

All kidding aside, this really looks incredible. The detail work you've done on the plate, and on the fabric underneath the plate, is quite impressive, especially for having been produced in such a short time!

In only 1 1/2 hours?! Wow! This looks great I really like it. I especially love the feeling that he's facing the sky or a glowing blue light, and then the contrast of fiery oranges behind him. Detail, of where you focused, looks great.

I also feel like he might be tipping backwards a little, but that also all depends upon where and how his legs are situated and I may just be seeing things.
