---------------------      ---------------------

Character Traits:

------------------------------------------

 Assertive
Viveca enjoys taking issues in her own paws, trying to figure out solutions and letting fellow wolves know how they can help to tackle the issue. While her general negative mood might not make for the best role model, her natural leader instinct proves to be a great skill.

Compassionate
For someone who has already gone through so much pain, Viveca still has a lot of love to give. Most of it is, of course, going to Hawk, but if there’s any other unfortunate soul that needs support, she will try to help as much as possible.

Diligent
If a task needs to be done, Viveca will do it with as much enthusiasm as possible. And if another issue appears while still working on the previous task, Viveca will solve this issue as well. A lot of work is no issue for her.

Loyal
Hawk means everything to her. With their parents gone, her older brother is the only thing in her life that really matters.

  Honest
Viveca does not like lying. Why sugarcoat something if the other side just needs a reality check? She rather offends someone by telling the truth, than hiding what she really feels about an issue.

  Paranoid
Are they here? Are they still following? The water, is it rising? Does it want to claim them? Did someone tell it to do so? Due to her past experiences, Viveca has become feeling haunted - it makes her observant, but also stresses her out a lot.

  Brave
Be strong, don’t be scared. Viveca believes that hiding brings bad luck, she would rather act like a fool and endanger herself than hiding from something.

  Controlling
If you fuck up, you die. Her mom’s death was an accident, her dad’s death was an accident. Viveca will not allow herself to lose anyone else to an accident, resulting in her being very accurate. This behaviour can be very annoying to certain wolves.

  Angry
Life just fucking sucks. Viveca’s general mood can be summed up in one word: angry.
The juvenile is unhappy with nearly everything - her parents deaths, her own possible failure when it came to help, the stupid scary white wolves making life more difficult. Everything.

  Impatient
Waiting is not something Viveca is good at. In the past, waiting had only resulted in misfortune, she would now rather rush to a solution than wait.

  Anxious
What else can go wrong? Her parents are already gone, what if Hawk was next? What can she even do about it? It doesn’t matter how much she trains, she is still just one wolf and if another river wants to claim a wolf, there is nothing she could do against it.

  Negative
As angry as Viveca is about everything, there’s also a softer side to it, a side she only allows Hawk to see. With him, she opens up about the sadness inside of her, the hopelessness she sees in her future.
With everyone else, she only appears to be a mood killer.

Pre-Group History:

------------------------------------------

Viveca was born as a single pup to a pair of travelling wolves, the male Eyanosa and the female Nurah. Her mother was kind, her father was strong and the tiny puppy loved both of them with all her heart, trying to imitate them as soon as her body was strong enough to support itself.
Life was only good for a short amount of time until tragedy hit them.

The small family was about to leave their makeshift den, in order to search for a new place to settle down, when a thunderstorm began. Viveca’s parents told her to wait in the safety of an old hollow fallen tree where the rain and lightning couldn’t get to the small one, while they went scouting out the area.

When Eyanosa returned, he returned alone.

“I don’t want to play with other pups...I want to play with you!”

Ever since the river had claimed Nurah’s life, Viveca had developed a strong distaste for water. The small one at first had a hard time understanding what had happened to her mother, but over the next few moons, she at least realized that Nurah was gone, would never return and that it was the river's fault.

They continued their travels alone, without Nurah by their side.
Viveca became strongly attached to her grieving father, who, after Nurah’s accident, had become withdrawn.
He was still taking care of the small pup, but his heart was not fully in it anymore. But over time, weak soft smiles started to reappear on her dad's face whenever Viveca seeked his company and while they were never as full as they used to be, the she-pup felt happy about being able to help her dad. During the next weeks Eyanosa would teach Viveca everything he deemed important - knowledge the small she-pup happily accepted.

Their small family was no longer perfect, but as long as her dad was there, it would be alright.

“Dad! Dad, no! Don’t leave me! DON’T LEAVE ME!”

Something was off, something was bothering Eyanosa on this day and his gaze was searching the lands as if he was waiting for something or someone to appear. Finally, he told her to wait for him, he would take a quick look at something, but would be back soon. Stay here, I will be back. That’s what dad had said and that’s what Viveca was doing, despite the curiosity tugging at her pelt, telling her to follow dad.

Soon, the air was filled with terrifying sounds of wolves fighting somewhere in the distance.
Was this where dad had gone to? Viveca didn’t know.
Her paws were rooted to the ground, her small body shaking in fear as she pressed herself deeper into a nearby crevice. If only she was bigger, if only she was as strong as dad!
Then, she wouldn’t have to be afraid, she wouldn’t have to listen to those horrible sounds, unable to quiet them - but she wasn’t big. She was small and helpless.

When the sounds finally ended, Viveca didn’t move. Dad said he will be back, the words repeated in her mind over and over again until a male wolf appeared near the crevice, his gaze searching and finally locking on her own. The smell of blood reached her before the stranger did and with a fearful glance at his shocked face, she darted around him, following his trail back to where he had come from.

Where the horrible sounds had come from, where her dad had gone to.

But Eyanosa was strong, there was nothing that could hurt him! There was no water to claim him like it had claimed Nurah, no, he had to be alright, Viveca told herself as she rushed down the path, aware of the stranger hurrying after her.
And then she saw him.
Broken and motionless, his gaze already clouding and his limbs no longer moving, his face no longer lighting up when she was snuggling into him or telling him a joke. Shrieking in agony, her short legs moving on their own, Viveca rushed to the fallen wolf, burying her face in his bloodied cold fur.

Eyanosa was dead.

“Hawk, we need to find a pack before these...these things get us.”

In the days after Eyanosa’s passing, Viveca barely felt anything and only let the older male guide her. The male had presented himself as her older brother, Hawkeye, and only his own sadness about their fathers death and her pack's confirmation about their relationship did not made her run away. He needed her as much as she needed him, that’s what the puppy told herself, but trying to stay strong for Hawk’s sake proved to be difficult. As much as she had hated water before this dreadful day, losing Eyanosa had brought up suppressed memories of Nurah’s passing, bringing Viveca to the edge of a breakdown every time she spotted the sea.

She couldn’t stay with the pack any longer, it was filled with memories and pain.

Luckily Hawk agreed and soon the two siblings set off together, away from the sea, away from the memories and into dryer lands. During this time the siblings bonded and Viveca became very fond of the older male, trusting him and learning from him, like she had learned from their dad. Everything could have finally changed for the better, if only there had not been these strange white wolves hovering around everywhere, leaving their restovers to rot instead of eating them. The pair avoided the white strangers, nervous about their looks and behaviour, but it seemed as if these things were everywhere they went.

Finally, when the leaves had turned and fallen off, preparing the land for a new season, Viveca had enough. During their travels she had grown from the lost pup into a confident juvenile and she was getting really tired of always having to run away from these horrible white things. As long as it wouldn’t be by the sea, she knew that the two of them would be better off with a pack, resulting in her begging Hawk to reconsider and succeeding without an issue.

Optimising rushing through her, she followed Hawk towards what they had identified as a pack's border and, hopefully, their new home.
