Any Xena fans out there?
Xena is one of my favorite shows (along with The X-Files 
)!! I made a few costumes from Xena...but that was when I was first beginning to sew so they aren't the greatest. This is her chakram that I made (the frisbee like thing she throws ), actually it is her second chakram that she got in season 5 (I think it was season 5....) Here is a link to a picture of it: [link] Anyway, I made this in a few steps. First, I made a clay version of this (using PaperClay) and I let it dry on a piece of wood so it stuck to it. Then I used this rubber mixture to make a mold of it and poured it over the clay piece. When that dried, I used a product called rigid urethane and mixed the partst together and poured that in the mold, which only took about 15 minutes to harden. Then I painted it with acrylics and this is how it turned out!!! the back of it is flat, not dimensional, but that's okay, it's just for decoration. This fabric in the background is the velvet I'll be using for the overgown of Arwen's Blood Red gown, which I'm still working on

This is a great job! The only thing I would say is that instead of all gold, one side was bronze. Other than that, I love it!

Wow, that is great!! Actually, you've given me some good ideas for casting, because I've tried it before and I want to stab someone every time... I never thought of using paper clay and then letting it fuse to wood, and then making a mold off of that... so cool! And it looks awesome too!!

I'm glad that this helped!!! the first time that I tried to make this I actually worked pretty hard to get it un-stuck from the wood, but then I realized that was a mistake...well I'm glad that you like it!!

We're trying to figure out ways to make Sakura's wand from the second season [link] and possibly Kamui's sword from X/1999 (if we can figure out how to do it in the first place!!) [link]
Hehe, we'll see what happens, thats for sure. Every experience thusfar with casting has been *bad*...

hehe, man its been so long since ive watched Xena...some of the later seasons were kind of disappointing, they just werent as interesting for some reason.
