Description I've affectionately dubbed elves with these interesting ear-tips 'droop-eared elves'. This is a picture I doodled freehand while waiting in the car with my mom for my brother to get done with his college class. I'm very happy with it, considering it's a freehand doodle, and I made up a bit of storyline for them while drawing.

They are a father and son; the poor guy's wife seemingly committed suicide when their child was only a baby, even though she had no reason to do so and had been perfectly happy before the incident occurred. The father thus raised their child on his own, and (being the loyal type) hasn't fallen in love again since. He doesn't know it, but his wife was enticed into her death by a bit of creative hypnotic magic-casting...and his son, who has his mother's blood, is next on the hit list.

Er....ehehe. Anyway! Just never you mind me and my fiction writer-y, drama-loving side. Hope you like the picture!

Aww, thanks! LOL...I didn't expect so many people to love it this much! I mean, what is there is a good-quality picture, but it's not even entirely finished...

I should draw them a promotional 'manga cover' with the father and child and the child's late mother's face close up in the background... Of course I'd also have to work in a shadowy, mysterious figure somewhere, which is the person who murdered the mother and made it look like a suicide.

>>; Oya...for such a sweet-looking picture, it has a dark history!

I like this style of anime children best--realistic enough to be in the same setting as adults, but still enough like a chibi to be adorable.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! I like this drawing style, but don't draw in it much because it reminds me of somebody else's....I can't remember whose, though. I believe it's something like the style in one of my how to draw manga books.

Hehehe--I've practiced it extensively and taught classes how to draw anime babies (the advanced class wanted to learn it, hehe), so I guess now it's as automatic as drawing somebody of any other age! I suggest finding a picture of an anime child or baby that you think is super-cute and then re-drawing it for practice. After that, try drawing a character you know already (such as a main aime character who is usually a teen or smething) as a baby using what you learned! Really fun, and people love the baby pics of their favorite characters, hehehe.

so in other words, a cuter version of a chibi? Guess I'll try that another time when I have the time.

say... hows that cg class going? it should have started by now, I think.

Oh, the Digital Illustration one? We're in week 2, learning how to use the Pen tool in Illustrator (which is by means no easy task, but I've done it before so I'm not worried. ^^ )

Yeah, it is fun! ^^ This week we also made personal logos using our names and/or initials. We made the logos into art brushes, which can then be stamped onto our future works.

Mom has already take the class in a previous quarter, and isn't in it this time around. I'm all by my lonesome...

anway, glad you're having fun.

Oh, I've taken plenty of classes by myself, too, hehe. But it's fun sometimes to take together with my mom--that, and we can share one textbook, so it only costs half the money.

Indeed! Yeah, when we're in the same class and it's online, one of us will print off the paper work for both and give the other their copy.

I know! They have no idea what they're missing out on. But, then, I respect my parents because they're really good people, and not everybody's parents are good people, I know...I'm lucky, I suppose.
