Hehe...my RP L pokes his toes like this when he's feeling shy or awkward. I decided to illustrate it.L is from the anime/manga Death Note, and belongs to Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata.

An interesting and unique quirk for character developement, bravo! I read the part about L kicking Light's ass with his shoes (if he wore them). I have to agree with you, It's painfully apparent that he doesn't need them, as he is actually a pretty decent fighter. His only set back is his poor reaction time (I could have dodged that last hit...right in the beak, ouch.). This was cute picture, I'm curious as to what was going on to make him this uncomfortable.

XD I think he was attempting to practice the martial arts he'd been studying already after hearing about Naomi's martial arts skills...but he'd only watched videos, and she was way too quick for him.

Oh? I thought he was trying to hug her, but he was too awkward and clumsy and she interpreted it as some sort of attack! He had no reason to practice anything on her... unless he wanted a free demonstration of how to deal with weirdos without respect for the personal sphere!

LOL...good point. His comment when he got up suggested he was going to try and block her attack (he said something like "I guess watching it on video is a little different than the real thing" or something like that), but got bowled over before he could even attempt it.
