Description L can't remember the name of the song that's playing, so he's checking the title on his MP3 player. Just a quick pencil sketch I did in the car the other day. L looks so cute in a hoodie.

L is from the anime/manga Death Note, and belongs to Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata.

I give the clubs I'm in permission to post this in their galleries with a link back to the original.

I left it up to the viewer to decide. What kind of music would a guy like L listen to?

Lol, I wouldn't know...Probably something soft rock-ish. XD The OPPOSITE of what BB would listen to. XD

XD I don't know, B might copy L's playlist exactly to try and be like him.

Ah well, I hope L figures it out using his super powers of observation and deduction!

I do like L in a hoodie. He really does look good in everything!

Yeah, it's just slouchy and comfy enough to fit with his usual dressing style (and conceals how skinny he is, too.)

Yes...I don't think tight clothing would agree with L. He seems most comfortable when his clothes don't constrict his movement at all.

LOL--not entirely true! Mello, Misa, Takada, Light and even Ryuk definitely wear clothing picked for looks rather than comfort. Although Ryuk's "clothes" could actually be part of his body, I really don't know... XD;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneQuicksilver In reply to Threshie [2009-03-07 03:19:54 +0000 UTC]

They look like they are stitched on to his body sort of (Ryuk's clothing, I mean)...but I think it depends on the picture.

Light's clothing wasn't that tight, compared to Mello's. Misa and Takeda could rival him there.

I think the closest real comparison to Mello's clothing would be Misa's clothing, as both seem to be along the same lines of goth style. Ryuk could sort of be counted here as well, but his clothing is unknown whether it is a part of his body or not.

Threshie In reply to RuneQuicksilver [2009-03-07 03:29:57 +0000 UTC]

In Light's and Takada's cases, I mean it's formalwear rather than casual clothes, not that it's really tight. Formalwear still doesn't really seem comfortable to me. I think Ryuk's clothes are covered in zippers, not stitches...but the neckline is definitely sewn onto his neck. I'll assume his "clothes" are just part of his physical form, not intended to be removed. Shinigami seem to stay looking the same pretty much forever.

RuneQuicksilver In reply to Threshie [2009-03-07 04:38:15 +0000 UTC]

Formal wear can be comfortable...though Light is seen playing tennis in not so formal clothing!

I think formal clothing like theirs is form fitting, but not tight.

And I agree with your description of Ryuk. I was referring specifically to the neckline because we were wondering if they were sewn on to him or if they were seperate.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Threshie In reply to RuneQuicksilver [2009-03-07 04:45:15 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, those are pretty big stitches around Ryuk's neck. Hehe...Light and Takada have probably worn formalwear for so long that it IS what they're most comfortable in.

Threshie In reply to RuneQuicksilver [2009-03-07 05:17:50 +0000 UTC]

Yep, LOL. For example, my sister loves baggy clothing, but I am most comfortable in form-fitted stuff because it doesn't get in my way.

RuneQuicksilver In reply to Threshie [2009-03-07 05:25:37 +0000 UTC]

I'm more baggy/comfy, but I'll wear formal clothing when I must. I like balance in my life (insert balanced person who definetly isn't me here )

Threshie In reply to RuneQuicksilver [2009-03-08 14:04:31 +0000 UTC]

LOL; my mom always says that life should be balanced. (What she's REALLY saying is "Don't go to the extremes and only ever do one thing." ) I think if you really love something, it's okay to do that something more than you do other things.

RuneQuicksilver In reply to Threshie [2009-03-09 01:13:02 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I dislike math. I dislike science. However, I do not dislike gaining new information/knowledge. That reason alone is probably the only reason I put up with math and science. Same for politics. I dislike politics, but I always enjoy learning new things. I guess it keeps me going.

Threshie In reply to RuneQuicksilver [2009-03-09 01:14:57 +0000 UTC]

Hehe...I enjoy science, myself. Not the chemistry type, but the type in which you learn about the new advancements in science, like outer space, cloning, anthropological research...that kind of thing. I read New Scientist magazine's email edition, and look forward to doing so!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneQuicksilver In reply to Threshie [2009-03-09 01:50:56 +0000 UTC]

I agree. It's more fun to read about advances in things. But I like chemistry too, since it also adds to some of those advancements. It's neat to see where they came from...if that made any sense!

I just love learning. Even if the subject itself is difficult, I will at least learn something from it...even if that something is that I am not good at it!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Threshie In reply to RuneQuicksilver [2009-03-09 01:56:15 +0000 UTC]

Hehe...my view on learning in general is the same. I see anything new I learn as expanding my world in general--and the more I learn, the better.

L: ...Who put "It's Raining Men" on my MP3 player?

I bet it's "Voices" by DreamTheater, I always imagined that as L's theme...well in my fan fic anyway. It could be "Silence Must Be Heard" by Enigma, I could imagine L listening to stuff like that...or mybe it's "Enter Sandman" by Metallica, after all he never sleeps. The possibilities are endless when it comes to L.

I love the hoddie and the expression. All the Wammy's can seem to pull off the hoodie look. I bet listens to music often, it always seems to help me think. Maybe it's that Chopin piece from "Shadowlands", that one always gets the brain going for me, and classical music doesn't seem too far fetched for L.

Faved, saved, and filed. Great work!

Threshie In reply to gakusangi [2009-04-02 04:33:34 +0000 UTC]

I was thinking "The Sound of Silence" was a good choice for him. It's soft and soothing in tune, but thought-provoking in lyrics. You're right, the possibilities ARE endless for L!

Yeah, any of the Wammy's boys look nice in hoodies. Music helps me write and draw...for my mom, though, it's a major distraction if she's trying to concentrate, so it can actually go both ways. I don't know how it can distract... XD I think it's a wonderful help!

gakusangi In reply to Threshie [2009-04-02 19:30:32 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I love listening to music while I work, just to set the mood of the scene sometimes, other times I need to drown out 'white noise'.

The Wammy's wear their bizarre clothing like uniforms, so when I see them in anything else, it strikes me as 'casual wear', if you know what I mean. I like to see them relax a bit every once in while, and your work always manages to do that.

Maybe he's listening to "I Want Candy" because I can't play that song on DDR without thinking of L. XD
Or maybe he's listening to something we wouldn't expect on there(maybe B hacked his iPod? XD).

Threshie In reply to TULAngel [2009-02-22 15:52:15 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I agree; I have an AMV for L set to "I Want Candy." LOL...can B hack things? I suppose if he's a super-genius, he could, eh?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TULAngel In reply to Threshie [2009-02-22 16:34:10 +0000 UTC]

Oh, you do? I might of seen it, then. XDD I've seen a lot of AMVs of L with that song.
Well, B's as smart as L, right? If he didn't hack it, he might of just stolen it and put a bunch of random weird songs on it. XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Threshie In reply to TULAngel [2009-02-22 16:37:50 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the one I have is a Manga Music Video--it has no anime clips in it, only manga scans! It's very well-arranged, and by the same person who did the Manga Music Video "Getting Away With Murder" for Mikami (my favorite Mikami AMV so far, actually.)

LOL...he probably could just pretend to BE L and use it in plain sight while L's gone and nobody else would know the difference.

I don't think I've seen it, then. I'll have to look it up sometime. X3
That's quite true. XDD The only giveaway would be he'd be blasting a band like The Birthday Massacre or something...bands that L probably isn't into. XD
