This is Dr. Katrina Szarch, aka Voivode Valerie Draculesti. She was my character in a steampunk/dieselpunk game where we were trying to race to stop someone from inventing the atomic bomb. Her backstory was that while she was in university she was part of a Wallachian independence movement trying to push the Prussian Empire out of her homeland. This is because she had been led to believe that the Prussians killed her parents. In fact it was the independence movement that killed her parents because they refused to take part in the movement. She is the last direct descendant of Vlad Tepes of the Draculesti line and the Independence movement hoped to use her to supplant the Prussian-collaborating Dagonesti line. Upon learning of the deceit, she left the group and made her way to America where she became a doctor on the borders between the Confederacy and the Union until she was hired by the organization the party was working for. Her natural hair color is black and she affects a Russian accent to further conceal her identity. Her martial art style is Stav, a purportedly ancient Nordic martial art style that is somewhat meditative in the manner of Tai Chi. However, while she is a competent martial artist and guerrilla soldier, she truly shines as a doctor especially when it comes to mixing medicines. In the course of the campaign she invented atropine and developed a treatment for radiation poisoning (the latter near the beginning of the campaign when we learned that the thieves had stolen the same materials that had killed Marie Curie).

One of the inspiring characters for her was the Chinese folk hero Wong Fei-Hong, though I focused more on the medical and her status as the "Master Apothecary" than on her martial arts.
