Umeko is another of the characters I created using Masks and a few random background generators. Umeko isn't wearing a costume here, but, then again, she doesn't see the point in a costume because her power is her body. Of course, her bomber jacket (a keepsake from her parents) has not been in danger yet so she may change her mind eventually.

Umeko was nearly killed in a electrocution accident and was saved by an experimental treatment involving nanites. Her bronze skin and ability to interface with and control technology seems to have come out of that treatment. As far as Umeko knows, this makes her unique in the world since for thousands of years of history the normal sources of superhuman capability have been the apotheosis virus (which can usually only spread from parent to child and even then not with complete success.) and the study of magic (which is the manipulation of extradimensional entities and the creation of pockets of alternate reality allowing for the operation of alien physics for short periods of time.) and since neither of her parents had the virus and she doesn't register as magical, her powers are entirely unique.

Unlike a lot of the other girls, Umeko is a bit hard to approach. She's cold, arrogant and ruthless. While she considers justice to be the most important thing and considers her honor important, she is a very abrasive individual who is prone to tossing out insults at other people and operating on her own initiative. This causes her to often rub the public the wrong way since she comes off as feeling like she's superior to everybody. It is unclear how much of this attitude is a defense mechanism and how much is true arrogance. Umeko does have a soft spot for other young people thrust into a life they didn't ask for though.
