Weird, ain't it?Out of all the Non-Playable Characters characters from Dead Space 1, I'm at a tie between Jacob Temple and Dr. Terrence Kyne.
Since Isaac never gets a chance to "speak" with Jacob, I guess Dr. Kyne wins this time. Out of all the characters, he's the ONLY one that wants to help Isaac without a hidden agenda AND actully helps you.
Which is why I'm a bit mad that Dr. Kyne had to die.
I kinda hope that Isaac will experience hallucinations of Dr. Kyne in Dead Space 2, and he's helpful in some way.

I'd like to imagine that if Dead Space 3 was made right, at some point in the story after fighting hordes of necromorphs and unitologist zealots, Isaac, Ellie, and whoever their allies are would suddenly receive help from a group within the unitologists that believed similarly to Kyne, realizing that unitology's "ascension" through "getting brutally murdered by undead monsters" is a load of bull. We know that unitology is selective and careful about their initiation criteria (we see that in text logs in DS2), but there still have to be plenty of people with actual functioning brains that see necromorphs and don't think "it's our divine savior" but "KILL IT WITH FIRE!!"
