Duck Hunt meets Halo. Like an Ice Cream Sundae meeting a cow pie. Halo being the cow pie.

Hey, I kinda like Halo.

Original my ass. The characters are boring. The gameplay is repetitive. The weapons selection just sucks. The story makes no sense. I've seen more originality in the original Half-Life. Atleast that game put some originality in their creatures. The creatures in Halo are hardly more than grunts in Halloween masks.

Well, yeah.
You have a point. Making a giant ringworld out of a super weapon is pretty stupid. The weapons don't seem all that orginal. And story mode does get pretty dull.
But the multiplayer games are okay, right?
I haven't played Half-Life yet. Seems kinda interesting. Is it any good?

I'm not at all a fan of competitive online multiplayer, so I couldn't say.
As for Half-Life, if you're looking for a game with great story, graphics, immersion, and videography go for Half-Life 2. If you just want straight up great, solid, and challenging shooter gameplay, go for the first one.
It's just that story in Half-Life is little more than the backstory of the second game. So you'll be spending a few acts just wandering around a research collapsing facility with the only real story being:
"The place is falling apart, there are monsters trying to kill you, and a guy in suit stalking you, SO GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE!!!".

Ohh.
Well, Halo is okay. Not the best, but it's okay at least.
That's how I think of it, atleast.
LOL
I might like that.
I know you can buy it off of Steam, but what about physical copies?

Well, for Half-Life 2, you can maybe find a retail PC copy of The Orange Box (HL2, HL2 Ep 1-2, Portal, & TF2) at a mall GameStop (they never really appear in ones that aren't attached to a mall for some reason).
You could definitely get an Xbox 360 copy, they're plentiful and cheap as fuck (About $20), especially considering it has 5 games on it.
As for Half-Life 1. The Steam version works with later versions of Windows and MACs, where I think the original (or WON version which was sold in disc form) might only work on Windows 98 & XP. If you really need a disc to be happy, you can probably get it off eBay...if they don't lose it in the mail that is.

Well, I don't have an Xbox.
Maybe Amazon?

Wait, how the fuck do you play Halo then? Oh, and there's a PS3 version.
And I don't even know what Amazon is, if it's like eBay, then probably. I still recommend the Steam version overall.

PC version. Halo 1, and I shou;d be getting 2 soon.
It's like Amazon, but you don't need to bid. Say "I have money, I want that thing." and it'll show up in your mall.

Well it's not on there. There is one copy, but because the disc installer is so fucking rare nowadays it costs about $50.

ThSaverior In reply to NickReaper [2010-10-28 23:50:08 +0000 UTC]
Well, don't you need to pay?

NickReaper In reply to ThSaverior [2010-10-29 01:26:03 +0000 UTC]
Yes, don't you have to with Amazon? You just need a card. The game only costs 9.99 no tax, so go to Walmart, get a $10 gift card. Install Steam to your computer, make an account, search Half-Life, click purchase, put in the card number. And there you go, instant Half-Life.

Well, I don't have an Amazon thing. My dad does.
So I'll try to tell him about it.

Ok so you'd rather pay $54.99 for it on Amazon than 9.99 for it on Steam?

Probably because your computer doesn't have the right graphic capabilities to run it. That or he doesn't know how to click the play button.
