+ Caring-  Yukine is a kind and caring individual, with a weak spot for Pokemon of all kinds and children. Though some outside of the clan, and even a few inside, who know who he is do pick on him, he still cherishs them all the same.

+ Patient- Nothing worthwhile can be accomplished in haste, so Yukine and his team have learned to draw out a fight and how to keep going, to give those around them a chance. This has also helped him gain a powerful ally, as most don't have the patience to raise a Magikarp, giving rise to the Hashira Guardian.

+ Honest- Yukine isn't one to lie to a person, at least not on a regular basis, and often feels guilty when he does. Unfortunately, sometimes the truth comes out without him realizing it as he has a habit of speaking his thoughts outloud and this has happened subconsciously at times.

- Timid/Skittish- For many years, Yukine mostly had Pokemon as company or his Grandfather, as well as the same Doctor for most of that time as well. His actual time with outsiders was rare, and he often ran away when people noticed him. Though he doesn't run as much anymore, Yukine can often freeze up if someone approaches him first and is easily frightened when he's not paying attention.

- Stubborn-  Mostly when it comes to his duty and those around him, he holds fast to his ideals, yet when he's decided on a course of action he follows through with it to the best of his ability. He tries not to let injuries stop him from completing his objectives and, though he does give Hikou members a chance to try to calm the Alpha, if the rage of the Pokemon endangers too many people he'll perform his duty to avoid more casualties.

- Beats himself up - Yukine's love for Pokemon and people often leads to nights of him in tears alone or with his own Pokemon, crying for the loss of those taken by his own hands or for those he couldn't save in the end. Though he knows he can't save everyone, he still tries to, no matter who they are. And, in accordance with his sacred duty, some death is merciful for those suffering the pain and rage associated with Alphas; however, they were still a Pokemon once, possibly even a parent or a mate, a partner to another, and it hurts him to think about it.

* Selfless- If something can be done for someone else, Yukine will push for their care first before his own. He knows how to tend to his own needs most of the time, yet will sacrifice his own time to help another out. Regardless of who he's dealing with, even if they've disrespected him or those around him will judge him for helping an outsider, they're needs are more important. He isn't one to throw his life away as if it's meaningless, but he'll throw himself in front of the bus to save someone else if possible.

Backstory

Yukine was rather frail when he was born, often kept inside the walls of the Hashira Springs that was visited by clan members and tourists alike. Despite the multitude of people that came in, Yukine didn't have much contact with them, often accompanied by his Grandfather's Torkoal, Kazame, and later a rather large and melanistic Magikarp his Mother gave him. He waited for her to return with stories, he listened to what was said about their clan and beliefs, and knew his Mother often didn't see eye to eye with his Grandfather. Too young to comprehend what they meant, he kept to his family and the Pokemon; however, he would sometimes spy on other people, curious and having the desire to chat, yet immediately running whenever he was noticed or they spoke to him. On a few occasions he managed to talk to one group of people in particular, the heirs of the two Leading families of the Tsubaki clan and, in time, a third; unfortunately, every conversation was cut short often by himself.

When he was 7, his Mother was brought back and he was denied the chance to get close to her for about a month. When he did get to be by her side, it was the last time they got to talk, losing her that night. His Grandfather was unable to hunt after that day, sustaining a debilitating injury and, in time, coming to terms with his new disability for one reason: Yukine. He listened to his Grandfather bad-mouth his Father, a figure he'd never met in his life, and at times was forced to drink a foul tasting liquid. To avoid the man's anger, Yukine began to drink it willingly, unaware of what his Grandfather was doing. The drink was laced with a weak poison, hoping to strengthen Yukine's body so he didn't die the same way his Mother did. His Grandfather took to training him when he could, to protect himself, telling him about their clan's divine duty.

Slay the Alpha Pokemon for their anger, their rage, brought about their pain and the pain of those around them. There was no true cure, only temporary relief, one that often came with the death of many down the line. His Mother had stopped their Clan from killing an Alpha that seemed to calm down, yet it enraged right as they let their guard down and she was poisoned, suffering till her last breath. His Grandfather did all he can to try to make sure Yukine didn't become the same, neither of them relished in the death of a Pokemon, yet if someone had to do it, to commit that sin for the sake of those around them and the Pokemon's own salvation, it had to be done. Though no one saw him much, Yukine changed from the long haired 'ghost' as he was often called as a child into a Hunter for the Sword Head of the Clan.

He met Naomi of the Shield Family on multiple occasions throughout the years, especially when his Grandfather became ill, finally talking to someone on a deeper level than just formal meetings. To help the Hashira Springs he inherited, he also began to talk to Melchior of the Sword Family to continue the procurement of Sake and other goods for his customers; however he always felt guilty as well for not being able to do more for the man and his late husband. When on the field, Yukine leaves the Hot Springs and Inn to the employees and, if he's well enough, his Grandfather; when he's not on the field, he's trying to strike up conversations with customers to learn about the world and people, as well as see all the beautiful Pokemon they bring with them.

Despite his duty, despite the hate some people give him for his job, despite what others may think of him due to his upbringing, Yukine absolutely adores all Pokemon he meets. He's fascinated by them, intranced by them, and even keeps up with a Pool dedicated to mostly Magikarp and his own Mizuki. He beats himself up over what he has to do, and anyone who gets hurt while he's around, so there is one thing he does that his Grandfather isn't a fan of, and he's also dealt with the backlash from some other Clan members. Kazame, his Grandfather and now his Torkoal, carries flares/fireworks to set off if he encounters an Alpha to warn those around and get help from his clan; however, one flare holds colors of a different clan, their rival who don't like their views, but he still calls upon them anyways. He prays their ideal of living in harmony with the Alpha variants will be true eventually, yet even he's seen the Pokemon turn, so he mostly focuses on safeguarding the lives of those around him first and foremost.

* Within the metal hair band that Yukine wears are several vials of a powerful tranquillizer, which he uses to help subdue an Alpha or, in rare occasions, other unruly Clan members or Pokemon. The tranqualizer is meant to induce sleep, so he can offer his prayers first, and perform his sacred duty second.

* Taiyo and Tsuki were the children of an Alpha Blood Moon L. Lycanroc, both almost being killed by their own enraged parent only to be saved by Yukine. Though he originally took them in to find a new, more fitting home for them; they strangely enough took up to him, and now help him in the hunt.

* Yukine never allows his Pokemon to deal the finishing blow, that burden is his and his alone among his team.

* Due to the years of his Grandfather's infamous concoction, Yukine is more resistant to poisons and venoms, though he'll still succumb to the effects eventually it does require a larger dose and doesn't affect him as long.

* Yukine's Mother, the daughter of his Grandfather, was with a man his Grandfather objected to due to the differences in views and the man's 'weakness' when it came to the field of battle. She refused to step down as an Alpha Hunter despite her change in views, a fact he's often reminded of by a few members that led to her Death.
