Been doing some fanart of Bela Lugosi (though the drawing may not resemble him).
As I am still recovering from my, uh, what would one call it---'emotinal breakdown'? 'temporary loss of composure'? LOL

I have taken an inexplicable compulsion to working on fan art in between commissions as a form of emotional solence. I always feel a bit guilty working on fanart because its not real 'work'--yet I find doing it oddly therapudical.

I'm not sure why, but I have been attracted to drawing pen and ink and pencil drawings of a young, Bela Lugosi. I was originaly intersted in sketching Boris Karloff (such an interesting face!), but then I got distracted by Lugosi. I never considered Lugosi a 'hansome' man, but in a strange new light his younger self (1930's) suddenly appeared to me as such. He has a unique, delicate beauty when he is sad or composed, but with a few contortions, he can make himself gruesome. Its the kind of beauty that is lost with age (which is not seen too often with men--usually they grow into a time of mature chiselled beauty before they get really old). Maybe that's why the younger version of him is more alluring.
Besides that, in his younger self, he has the perfect body for suit wearing--whatever he wears in what movie, it stands out to me because suits fit him so well. Even if he were surrounded by other men of same height wearing the same outfit, his body is more noticable, more meticulous. I dunno why either, how silly XD LOL
