"Well, my dear ____________, your time has run out. Guess you weren't able to accomplish the mission." She glared at you. "There are consequences, my dear."

At that, a few whispers and scorned remarks arose from the crowd. Each one taking a good long look at you. Some with distaste, others with disbelief.

"Arshloch, you-" Gilbert's voice wavered. You turned to face him. He looked surprised and downright shocked. Like holy-shit-I'm-stupid-shock. You bit your lip.

"Surprise?" You tried to say to lighten the mood. His eyebrows just furrowed. Now he looked downright furious.

"You're actually a girl." He let out a small laugh, as if he was both pissed and shocked you had the nerve to deceive him. "You, after all this, were actually a girl."

The crowd silenced. Everyone had seen the cocky Gilbert, the flirty Gilbert, or even the Fuck-you Gilbert. But no one had seen this side of him. This side where he looked like he could kill with one glare. You took a deep breath. Fuck that bitch, seriously.

"You actually had the gall to keep on lying to me?"

You slapped him right across the cheek. Everyone's eyes widened, even the she-devil's, even Gilbert's, hell even yours. You were too enraged to notice though.

The words come out before you can stop them. Your hands fly to your mouth. Everyone in the room looks on. Each one gasps at your words. Gilbert's eyes widen and then his face contorts into an unreadable mask. He frowns.

Before he can continue, you run out of the room. You see glimpses of Antonio, Eli and Francis trying to stop you. Everything is a blur though, as your eyes start to water. Your heart explodes in your chest. You follow where your feet bring you. Somewhere, anywhere, just not there. You can't face them right now. You can't face Gilbert most of all.

Once your feet tire, you look up. You're sure you're somewhere by the outskirts of the campus. You immediately flop down onto the ground, heaving and panting. You feel something wet and warm rushing down your cheeks. Tears? You didn't care. You were now fed up. You let it flow, each part of the night replays and it just makes the flow stronger.

"God. Why are you so stupid?" You muttered to yourself, angry at yourself, angry at Gilbert but most of all angry at that she-devil.

"Well well well, we meet again, missy." You hear a cool voice break your sobs. You look up to see a mop of red hair atop a tanned jock. He looks familiar, wait, oh God.

"Miss us?" Another voice rings out in a Canadian accent. The first one's lackey saunters up to him, holding a bloodied hockey stick. The tanned one moves over to you, smirking.

"Aw, the little bastard is crying." He cooed, obviously stating the fact. You know you should stand up and fight. You did it before. But right now, you felt like there's nothing left to live for. You look up at him; his sunglasses preventing any direct eye contact.

"Go away." You say, as venomously as you can. He raises his brow.

"Now, that is no good. You see, we're just here to finish our business." He says. His lackey grunts in response. You stop responding. Instead, you turn back to the ground, as you hear him raise his baseball bat. Damn, this is going to hurt.

Instead of the impact though, you hear a rustle in the bushes. Your heart leaps. A part of you wishes it's Gilbert. You curse that part. That small girly bone that you call your heart. Why is the heart so overpowering over the mind?

You hear the lackey turn too late, and you hear the yells of help. The fight is fuzzy in your mind. You don't recall most of it. Probably because you were too busy thinking about him. About that stupid bastard of a Prussian.

Your eyes raise to meet your saviour. You are ready to embrace him. To forgive him. To simply talk to him. It's not him though, it's Antonio.

"Chica, are you okay?" I ask, taking in her battered form. Obviously she isn't, but I feel the need to ask. I know she isn't just hurting physically, after all.

"Fine. What are you doing here?" She asks in return. I sigh.

"I was looking for you." I say, as if it weren't obvious enough. She looks up. Her hair is in a mess, and her cheeks are blotchy-red. She's still beautiful, as always.

"Why?" She presses. I suppress the urge to groan. Why is she so oblivious? I want to tell her the truth. I want to say it so badly. Because I care about you.

"Because you're my amigo." Of course, I can't say that. Not right now at least. Besides, she likes Gilbert. She likes him. Him. Not me.

"Thank you." She says, standing up. She topples over for a moment, and I stretch my arms to catch her. She gives me a pained smile.

"No problem. You can count on me, Chica." I say, desperately trying to stop my heart from pounding so fast. She looks up. She looks so vulnerable right now. She doesn't let go of me.

"Really?"

"Really."

She suddenly bursts into tears, crying into my chest. She releases everything. She tells me everything. I stay there and console her. I may be selfish for saying this, but I wish it always be like this. I just want her to be there. In my arms. Always.

"I'm killing him. And her." Feliks says, rubbing your back. You smile up at him. He was definitely the best brother in the world. He scoops up another spoonful of ice cream, and sticks it into your mouth. You recounted last night's plight to him. He was a patient listener.

"Thanks, but I think they'll just haunt me as ghosts." You say, cracking a small smile. After your little run-in with Antonio, he drove you back home, making sure to use the roads the other people don't take.

"I'm so sorry, lil sis. You had to go through all that." He sighs and leans backward. "I just wish I could make it up to you."

"I know one way." You say. You had been thinking of this for a while now. It makes you feel sad, just thinking about. Having to leave Eli, Antonio and Francis, after all. But after last night, you believe it's for the best.

"Enlighten me." He says, looking intrigued. He props up his elbows on the table in a business-like manner.

"I'm transferring colleges."
