Description
I've been working with some ideas concerning the traditional fairytale princesses, and whether they were as innoscent as we were brought up to believe.Could it have been that Rapunzel was imprisioned in the tower because of her monsterous nature, and that the "evil witch" was set to guard her?
Well... this one was made while playing with that thought, picturing her waiting for her next meal to come by.
I am fully aware that the angles look odd, and the colours are a bit too bright to be the insides of a gloomy stone room, but after having worked with this for a couple of weeks (1 week to get the design in place, 1 to find the correct media to colour it with) I lost patience with the ruler and made some quick lines while colouring.
Lost track of how long.
Otherwise made with mechanical pencil, and Letraset marker pens on watercolour paper.

Quite possible she did. Which then brings up another question; can she manipulate her hair as an extra limb? Or does it have a Medusa like quality, and lives a life of its own (sucking the marrow of the bones for nutrients)?

Brilliant idea and, I think, very well executed! Dark and twisted version of a classic fairytale. I'd like to see more of this! Sleeping Beauty, Cindarella and so on!

Hmm... have yet to find an angle for those two. Have ideas for Snow White, Red riding hood, Little Mermaid... come to think of it, I need to see how many fairy tale princesses there are...

Like the total lack of innocence myself, and that look of utter boredom.
Heh... It actually occured to me that Rapunzel is one of the few fairytale princesses not made into an animated Disney movie. A Barbie movie, yes (know of this from coming home VERY late/early from a binge one summer, and watching it while eating my fride rice), but no animated movie.
