First of all great job drawing her, super like your art style~ Secondly, I really wish someone would post more scenes from the animated series she's from onto Sakugabooru already. Those "mods" really need to get it together. Know what I mean?

Thank you , I'm glad they ditched the high pitched voice but her voice kind of scares me and intrigues me all at the same time haha.Β

Why's she all covered up?
I like how ripping out a person's head plus spine is cool, but having mammaries exposed is a no-no.

That's how she was designed in the new game , you act like Mileena's wearing a body suit like she's not. She's very much revealing but more practical now , doesn't it leave more to the imagination ? They are doing so much better with the girls , if you don't like it then go play any other MK game but there is nothing wrong with the outfit she's wearing , I was more focused on the voice anyway I have to admit she's scares me a little bit now lol.Β

In Mortal Kombat 9, she DEFINITELY looks different than this incarnation.
"They are doing so much better with the girls"
Doing better...how?

Making them look less slutty for one , like okay I get why Mileena was , but the other girls ? The design's actually fit their character now , like Kitana actually looks like a princess, Mileena actually looks like an empress but in the last game she didn't look like anything special. Don't get me wrong though , if you like more reviling clothing than that's fine but it's so annoying to see comments say " Now I can't fap to this " or " Um why is she wearing pants ?".Β

Interesting. Female sexuality has to be physically concealed, or else it is slutty.
I like how, on the other hand, male sexuality can be flaunted in a more physical fashion without reprisal (why do people never lambaste the designers behind Johnny Cage or those that adore the barbarian physique when it's on display?)
Then again, this "trend" in fiction has been going on for a while. Jill Valentine of Resident Evil 3 fame was called a slut/prostitute for her choice of clothing, Power Girl was covered up from time to time, Wonder Woman lost her last longstanding costume, Lara Croft's bust was reduced, Samus (of Metroid fame) has had her figure wrangled back and forth between games, etc.
No matter the character or franchise, though, it seems that women who's breasts are larger than a B-Cup are pretty much *always* acceptable targets.

I never had a problem with Lara Croft or Jill Valentine actually but come on all the girls in Mk 9 were practically wearing bathing suits. I'm all for sexy girls but Mileena's outfit was rediculous , Β her outfit now is way better cause it looks like something she could fight in , it's practical but still sexy. I see what you mean about the guys but not every guy was shirtless now if you notice though every girl was very revealing and it really took away from their character.Β

This is a fighting game series where characters are physically strong enough to rip heads and spines out of bodies and perform other amazing feats of brutality with skill levels beyond *anything* seen on our mundane version of Earth...and we're supposed to worry that an outfit might be a touch impractical?
Man oh man, talk about misplaced priorities.
I chalk this "rationalization" up to this (the United States) nation's ongoing double standard in regards to sexuality and violence. The latter far more often gets a pass compared to the former.

"now if you notice though every girl was very revealing and it really took away from their character. "
HOW? They're still awesome fighters with distinct personalities.
Plus, lest we forget, Kitana and Mileena are from another fricking reality! Their culture could very well have different standards of dress.

Ed boon himself said that they've always made female characters revealing since most of the players were men and they wanted to appeal to them. What I meant by taking away from personality I mean that bad female characters often wear sexy clothing to distract the male characters while the good girls are still attractive but covered up. I don't get why you're making a big deal out of it really , isn't Mileena sexy enough for you ? I think she looks amazing , she has a great body and a pretty face ( I'm scared to see her without the mask though haha ). Why do you want them to be in such reviling clothes , to you get horny off of it or something ? I'm not saying that girls can't be sexy but swim suits are for swimming not for fighting.Β

"Plus, lest we forget, Kitana and Mileena are from another fricking reality! Their culture could very well have different standards of dress." If we're are bringing up culture and what people wear then I don't think Sonya who's in the special forces would wear that outfit she wore in MK 9 with the open vest and skin tight pants with the heels. You can say what ever you want but when it come down to it the only reason why Mk women use to look like that was cause there were a lot of horny guys out there.Β

'I'm not saying that girls can't be sexy but swim suits are for swimming not for fighting. "
IT'S.A.CINEMATIC.FREAKING.UNIVERSE!
(read the above while picturing me waving both arms in the air and shouting).
Aesthetics (by extension, the Rule of Cool) and skill can trump petty real life concerns if need be! Good googly moogly, I am sick of the focus on realism in the most inane/inconsequential places that has gripped fans of fiction in the last decade (this goes beyond what fictional women wear).
I'm also becoming concerned at how, despite moving ahead on the whole when it comes to a bevy of social issues, we're actually regressing when it comes to having scantily clad women in video fictional media. How people cannot see the notion that a female fighter should be taken less seriously because she's showing some cleavage and ass is sexist in and of itself is HUGELY disconcerting.
