I know I shouldn’t care. He’s gone. Link left me in a stump and never looked back. I wish he would have at least once thought about coming back. Can’t say I blame him entirely though... he looked... like he was having a good life.
He was the best friend I ever had. But given everything happening now, everything going on. I can’t help but want to be angry at him. We could have avoided this whole mess. We could have stopped everything from happening. I could have been by his side and fought off whatever problems he had. Even if it wasn’t an adventure, even if it wasn’t in the forest... protecting it doesn’t always mean being inside it.
But I chased him off.
He couldn’t even come back to help my new friends. And I couldn’t even leave my sword to say something. I just hid like the coward I am, the coward he knows I am. I would have only chased him away. At least this time he had a decision without my influence.
And now, the reason Hyrule is like it is... is because I’m not a good sword spirit or friend. I couldn’t stop Ganondorf in the beginning. And I chased a hero away. Kalla won’t stop turning and Dryst isn’t capable of being a partner like Link was... and unlike Anthea, I’m useless by myself. Just broken and powerless.
I’ll chase Dryst off and fail Kalla. Then I’ll fail Hyrule. Just like I failed Link. And the Deku Tree. That’s all I am, right? A failure.

PRETTY MUCH JUST A SUMMARY OF HOW ALDEN PROBABLY FELT AFTER THAT TIME TEAR. Because he never got a chance to talk to OoT!Link. But Kalla probably cheered him up because she doesn’t like a downer Alden. Then she probably proceeded to try to grab Dryst by the ear when he came back with the group (including newcomers) and made their way to Aliza’s. That’s right. Dryst got an earful from a child. And Alden probably just snickered the entire way and got over his issues. Well, mostly. Because Kalla is a good friend and knows Alden isn’t to blame because he couldn’t beat a pig man. He'll end up bringing the whole issue of avoiding that Link eventually. But not right now as things need to get done!
I tried a new shading thing. And did a quick background because I'm still learning how to properly clean up the shading technique XD. I'm not 100% a fan of how dark it ended up making the picture look but eh, gotta learn sometime. Next time I'll use a proper ref too. Just go with the fact that Alden is a sword spirit so who says he needs to follow proper logic? XD And yeah, that's supposed to be just a reference to OoT!Link on the side there lol
