Is this picture free? Like could I use it for a book cover perhaps?

This picture is beautiful and has a nice light feel to it. I teach English in Fukushima, Japan, and to teach "war" and "peace" I'd like to use a thumbnail of this image to show a peaceful city, since it looks so futuristic and, well, peaceful. Cheers!

I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of the blur effect. I think it would have been great to more clearly see how the architecture co-inhabits with the organic environment around it.
If anything, the blur could be toned down a bit... Right now I find it actually detracts from the solidity of this composition.
Just my $0.02

Nice work!
It would be nice if you put photovoltaic cells on some rooftops, giving the idea of a near-future with some distributed power generation.

Would you consider... no, nevermind. You're probably too busy to work on Controlled Chaos; Second Origins...

This takes me back to the many hours I had spent playing SimCity over the years. Good times, and a great picture. You just don't see visions of the future like this very often anymore.

While the overall impression of the piece is pretty good, I do think it's nowhere near your usual work. Allow me to elaborate.
The motion blur is obviously the first thing that jumps out. I don't really see why you added it, it just looks like a fancy visual gimmick without too much effect. It acually emphasises the vertical lines, which are already on the strong side, so I wouldn't have gone with it.
Another point which surprised me in a piece coming from you, is the lack of depth. The foreground, middleground and background are very cleanly seperated, giving it an artificial look. The two towers on the left are a nice start, but it needs some more.
As a few suggestions, one of which already mentioned by ~DragonsOfKrynn , I'd try and break up the monotony of the current composition a bit. Add horizontal elements such as skybridges, place a few buildings in the foreground to break up the trees, maybe cut a hole in a few buildings (or cut them out entirely) and add some more background elements for a better depth effect.
The color scheme and structural believability is good though, on par with your previous work. While I understand you were under a timecrunch, I really think you're capable of doing a lot more with this image. Maybe have another go on it outside of the magazine?

Hey, fair enough. I just figured it should be said, considering the quality standard of your usual work. And nothing sees flaws like a fresh pair of eyes. ;D
Thanks for the link to the magazine, by the way, seems well worth checking out!

that's really cool, I like it. As an idea, if you do any more of the future city ones, Try connecting all the buildings with skybridges and roads and transportation in those sky bridges, as well as the same idea being carried up and up in a pattern that's almost gridlike. Interconnected buildings...

I think it worked good for the buildings (lending the futuristic feel) but didn't work out so well on the trees.
