Reba sat quietly in the courtyard, fiddling with her mashed potatoes. High school cafeteria food had never been appetizing to her but there was something about today that made them feel more nauseating than usual. Reba frowned, watching her classmates bustle about, their laughter echoing off the stone walls eerily. They seemed so happy and carefree. She sighed. It was because they were safe. They didn't have to worry about what happened when the sun went down, about the horrors that lurked in the dream world. Ever since she was 4 years old she had been plagued with terrifying nightmares. Reba looked down. She couldn't remember the last time she had slept through the night. The only consolation, however, was that her nightmares always ended when she woke up. No matter how horrifying, she would always wake up and be alright. It wasn't much, but it gave her even the smallest bit of control over her condition. Reba shivered as the cool autumn breeze cut through her sweater. A sudden dread fell on her chest as her heart slowly started picking up the pace. What was this? Reba stood quickly, her breath coming faster. She dug into her pocket, fetching the medication her latest neurologist had prescribed for her anxiety. Reba took a dose and walked slowly towards the tray return. As she set her tray down, she saw a dark movement out of the corner of her eye. Fear plunged into her heart like a dagger, discarding all logic and throwing her into overdrive. Reba ran. She had no goal, no particular place she wanted go, but she knew she couldn't stay still. She had to move. Reba bolted around a corner, slamming herself sharply against the school's exterior stone wall. She slid down, wrapping her arms around her knees as she tried desparately to calm herself down. She was awake, nothing could hurt her while she was awake. Reba froze as a cracking noise came from behind her, like bones knocking together. She didn't dare to move or breath, as if one action would betray her. This was just like her dreams, but it didn't make any sense. How could this be happening? She was awake! Reba felt hot tears fall down her cheeks as two clawed hands wrapped around her from behind. Why couldn't she be like everyone else? Why wouldn't these demons leave her alone? She felt her will leave her as darkness surrounded her. What little control she had over her life vanished. there was no hope, no relief, no future. Reba shrunk into the fetal position, sobbing and wishing for it all to be over.

Well, this is just a little excerpt from Reba's past. It was a really difficult time in high school for her, especially since her nightmares started effecting her during the day. Fortunatley, she eventually learns to control this thing XD but she definitely goes through a lot before then. Gosh I love Reba

I tried to make the monster scary looking but it just turned out cute-is XD ah well. I'm not that good at drawing scary things yet
