Description It's hard to believe that one year ago on February 24th I posted Soka for the first time on here.  I wanted to design a fun character who was challenging but would be cool to learn human anatomy and practice poses with.  Soka has grown into so much more than that, developing his character in ways I didn't even believe were possible!  Though we but heads, it's truly an honor to be his "mother" XD

He's definitely looking into the camera in that first panel with a "You seriously think this will win me over" face ah... it bought me just enough time to sneak up behind him and do what needed doing

I will say that it's a good thing that he can't kill me.... otherwise I would've been in deep crap here XD Who want's to see another panel Soka with cake all over his face? XD

Shout out to SerenityYen for being such an encouragement to me during this whole process  I couldn't have finished without her ^^

Aww it's always so interesting when you see your character developing and unfolding before your eyes so fast it's hard to realize sometimes: it's very exciting and challenges are great! ^^

Well Hisoka was a huge inspiration for Soka for sure (pretty obvious with how he looks and all... Hisoka has a really good build and sharp face that I could use as a reference, especially in the beginning when I had no idea how to draw people... but I've made some tweaks over the past year such as lengthening the face and nose and changing up the ears a bit... but alas the likeness will always be there ) along with the Joker and a few others.  He had a rough upbringing and ended up running away to Vegas, where he abandoned his true name for the stage name Soka Erose (honestly most of the time he doesn't really remember his past unless he thinks really hard about it... like he killed his former self in a way).  His connection to magic manifests as the ability to learn anything he sees done so when he got to Vegas he could pick up on the street performer's acts and use them to earn money.  Eventually he gained some notice and was recruited for proper shows.  He loves challenges and loves the idea of illusions, particularly card tricks and such.  It was around that time that one of the stage hands saw his potential and introduced him to an underground fight club called "The Grudge" that promoted death matches.  This was where he learned about his passion for fighting and, eventually, killing.  Like Hisoka, he has an eye for potential and doesn't really waste his time on weak opponents.  He was eventually recruited by the people at the Academy to learn and be trained to use his manifest for the betterment of the world.  Soka didn't care about the world, only himself, but he did like the idea of being close to other people with gifts like his.  He is very curious and, should something interest him, he will do whatever he can to investigate it until he understands it completely.  Once he understands a manifest or how something works and the mystery behind it is gone, he gets bored with the object or person and either kills them or simply moves on to the next object of interest.  He is confident and enjoys making others feel uncomfortable.  I haven't figured out why he wears the suits on his face just yet but I know that he only does it when he's planning on performing or killing someone, it's a ritual of some kind.  He's always on guard and it's incredibly hard to catch him by surprise (I was fortunate XD).  He has four metal ace cards, one of each suit, that he enjoys using as weapons but honestly he prefers using his own hands to do the job unless it can't be avoided.  He has a very strong connection to magic so he has a raw talent for rifting (creating a dimensional tear in order to transport to another location) and can actually manipulate the rift energy to create a shadow hand... thought it takes considerable energy and focus.

Hope that wasn't overwhelming but that's a good overview... I really should make a proper reference page for him.

He is very similar yet different!  It's hard to explain it but he's definitely his own person for sure

That would be so interesting to see!  I would love to see that Have fun with it!  If you have any questions as to what Soka would do in a certain situation don't hesitate to ask!  He can be hard to predict sometimes >_>

Hey the crazies are the fun ones (hope my other characters don't punch me for saying that XD). I love a good villain and, while Soka is more of a questionable character than a proper antagonist, he does have that draw around him for sure.

My characters are always nearby XD but I don't mind for most of them... some I could do with some more space (Soka XD). Not sure if Soka really is as redeemable as Hisoka but he definitely doesn't play by the system's rules for sure... always after a bit of entertainment
