so I joined this thing over at LJ called fanart100 ([link] )... basically you claim a character/fandom/whatever and draw 100 pictures based on prompts. I claimed the Kingdom Hearts games in general... because they have so much of my love.I guess this would fit the prompt of "air"... I was a little bummed that they didn't make a Treasure Planet world in KH2 (which would have made more sense than PotC but hey there's only so much pirate you can put in one game)... so I decided to do my own KH2/Treasure Planet art, nyaa.
eh. solar surfing seems like something Sora would love (heh, his name means sky)... sooo he's solar surfing like at the beginning of the movie yay. that's about it. I tweaked his outfit a little to fit the world better (he's wearing a tunic under his jacket and stockings and such). killing two birds with one stone, happy (belated) 3rd anniversary, Treasure Planet!

It's beautiful and it's reasoning in the description makes sense. Plus, I agree with you. Doesn't Pirates of the Caribbean get enough royalties and use? Treasure Planet was awesome.

i love it hands down, and Kingdom Hearts claimed most of my life and I was hoping for a treasure planet level too
maybe they'll have it in Kingdom Heart 3

They SHOULD have put Treasure Planet...I mean yeah PoTC matched story-wise but it seemed so out of place....Eh anyway...Imagine being able to do just what this picture shows as like um...side game/travel or something!

Well, as for them not putting a Treasure Planet world on KH2, I was also fairly dissapointed. They're starting to make a KH3 and fom what I've heard it's coming out in 2010. I hope they put a Treasure Planet world on the third one

but since that Treasure Planet was Disney's biggest box-office failure, and PotC
is one of the biggest successes, yeah.

You're right, it would have made more sense to have a Tresure Planet world rather than Pirates, But I kinda think Disney was thinking on how popular Pirates was. I like your picture though, it kinda gives a glimpse of what it would have been like.

There's a weird rumor that there's going to be thirteen games, so yeah. I know there'll probably be a third one, maybe, so Treasure Planet would be awesome in it.
Sora and Jim would get along so well...

Ron Clements' wife just came in today to pick up a sketch that Milt Kahl drew for him of Madame Medusa from "The Rescuers".. we just happened to be framing it X) thought you may find it interesting.. I really admire your figure drawing abilities. You've made the way Sora's falling back into the turn look smooth and natural with a good sense of gravity. The line of action between Sora and the board is nice. I like the bright, calm atmosphere you've established with the yellow/coral-hued clouds and blue sky. Adding this one to my favorites.
A Treasure Planet world would've been sweet, especially if there were a minigame like this.

Sora's name means "sky"? Sweet. *Scribbles it down somewhere* I love the BG of the pic, those clouds came out quite...warm, like you can feel the sun on your own skin and you just wanna jump on that board and solar surf away... *gets board and does exactly that*

Wow thats awesome so beautiful, but then that whole movie scene was very lovely. I have to admit a TP level would be pretty cool!
