lol, I love them too! But did you know that they are conformationally UGLY compared to almost ALL other breeds of horse? It makes me sad, but their necks, bodies, and legs are too long, and they naturally carry their heads way too high. When someone told me this, I screamed "LIES!" And ran off. 8D

That's...a silly way to look at it. The problem is, not all breeds are held to the same standards. Akhal Tekes hold their heads perfectly and are perfectly proportioned for being Akhal Tekes. They are conformationally ugly compared to the Thoroughbred standard — and Thoroughbreds are conformationally ugly compared to Akhal Teke standards. If a draft horse looks like an Arabian, it is conformationally 'wrong', but an Arabian that looks like an Arabian is obviosly conformationally correct.
It's just a matter of preference, and of the horse having the proper build for its 'job'. For example, I personally find Quarter Horses really ugly, but that doesn't mean they ARE ugly (just that I don't like them). And if a Friesian, for instance, moved like a QH, Friesian breeders would consider that horse a failure.
People who say Tekes are ugly simply don't like the breed, in the same way that I don't like QHs or Connemaras or Saddlebreds. It's all relative.

I've got a new respect for Akhal Tekes lately, although in my view, Andalusians are the most beautiful horses in the world.
