Description
A quick drawing practice after reading the tutorial book.Place a photo under the layers and capture the lines of face,so that you can save a lot of time figuring out a character's face.
Then try to change or add some details to make the face looks different then the original photograph.
That's how the commercial Novels illustrators do.
Hmmm,that's why sometimes those novel covers made me think of the popular pop stars.

yep, doing as little as they can and still make people think not much of it.
although i doubt cover artists gets paid that much for an illustration anyway; so might as well not do too much work on it.

I've heard a novel cover like this costs 3000~4000 (NT)for a pro,
but also 500 for some pro at the same time.
I guess it depends on how famous the artist is?

3,000 NT for a typical book isn't all that bad though, although i have no idea how much western artists tend to get paid (i think varies from β¬75 to β¬300, can't be sure)
