Nyoka edition! Strelka was sad because Walio was gone, and now that he's back, it's Nyoka's turn XD

She sighed and wriggled a bit, moving her head to rest it on his shoulder. "I love you." She whispered, almost inaudible to Vumbi. But before he could really process what she had just said, her breathing shallowed into a gentle rhythm of sleep.

Vumbi froze, half his tail still suspended in the air, as she whispered the sentence. He wanted to throw her off and ask her what she actually meant by that, and probably would have done if she hadn't just fallen asleep on top of him.
He let out a soft whimper, unsure of what to do

Pale sunlight drifted into the den through the entrance, warming Nyoka's fur and gently waking her. Her jaws spread in a yawn as she lifted her head from her paws. Her wounds were numb, so she suspected Yaliyo must have put more herbs on them. Judging the by sun's position, she had been asleep for a few hours at least. Fumo was out, probably tired of the musty den, and as was Vumbi. She sighed shifted her position to something a little cozier.

Vumbi's ear twitched as he sensed Nyoka move, and he slowly opened his one eye, grunting as he stretched out his long legs.

Nyoka swept her tongue over a paw before using it to fix her hair. She smiled as she saw Vumbi waking up and twitched her tail.

Vumbi snorted as he felt dust prickling at his nostrils, before rolling over in the dry ground, sending up dust. His eyes rested on Nyoka as he paused his rolling, staring at her through his single eye. "What was that?" He demanded stonily, remembering what Nyoka said before, without even saying a greeting to the she cat. "What did you mean before?"

Nyoka pricked her ears and looked to Vumbi. Now that the lighting in the den was a little better, her fresh scar shown on her head, just behind her ear. Her right eye now had a blue glazed pupil, visably blind.
"Hm?" She asked, a little confused on what Vumbi was talking about.

Vumbi closed his eye and let out a growl of annoyance before pressing his forehead again the floor, his nostrils flaring as he breathed heavily. "Don't make me say out loud what you told me." He slowly opened his eye to a slit. Although his first reaction was to be angry and agressive to anything, half the time, he wasn't actually angry. He felt uncomfortable and confused more than anything else.

Nyoka lowered her ears and narrowed her brow in thought, trying to recall what she had said before falling asleep. Her pupils suddenly shrank and her face flustered with embarrassment as she remembered. "..oh...I didn't think I said it outloud..." Nyoka's voice was almost a whisper, frightened and embarrassed at what she had let slip.

"Well, you did …" He paused as he thought of what to say next. "… Please tell me you were joking." He almost pleaded, his mind whirling as he tried to think of a reason about how he could reject her without giving away his relationship with Neema. He wondered what would happen if he wasn't with Neema, whether he would accept her feelings. Going by his own feelings coursing through him now, he was pretty certain of the answer.

Nyoka looked at her paws. She could tell from his voice that she wasn't going to like where this conversation was going.
"No...I wasn't."

Vumbi looked away, lips curled in a snarl. "Well … I'm going to have to say no. I'm … I'm … I'm …" He struggled to find something to say to cover up his relationship.

Nyoka wrinckled her nose and snapped at Vumbi.
"I wasn't asking you to love me too! But now I'm telling you to get out of my nest and leave me alone!" She snarled angerly before curling back up, her face hidden from Vumbi's view as she couldn't hold back the tears anymore.

Poor kitty.

So I did this fairly quickly, so it's not shaded and I messed up a lot of her markings. New scars, although the one on her paw was pre battle. And she's not wearing her snake skin because I suppose the healer wouldn't let her X3 What else...oh! The scar for where she has brain damage is on the opposite side of her head than where she's blind and deaf. The brain is wired to work opposites for some reason. The left side of your brain opperates the right side of your body and vise versa. So that's my reasoning. :3 This was my break from Journal dolls. Back to work.
