It's in the milkweed family, and seems to attract the most beautiful butterflies (I wonder if that's why it's called butterfly weed?) 
*And yes, it grows like weeds where I live...sometimes you can come across a field that's just full of these orange beauties...gorgeous.

Lovely shot! Lacking a little in sharp focus but more than made up for it by the sharp contrast and stunning colour. Did you adjust the saturation for this or do they really have that intense orange hue?

Thank you so much for the encouraging comment. Nope I didn't enhance this photo at all, but I did take it as the sun was setting (it was then in heavy shade) and it seems to make strong color pop even more at that time of the day.
