...but life has gone by without anybody ever even noticing...

This was just upstream from where this: was taken. The water had narrowed out right there, even if it was closer to the spring. But also, in that area of the stream, we had found a bunch of broken pvc pipes, that barrel, and a bunch of other stuff that shouldn't have been out there in fresh water. ;-;
But, at least that tree there had fallen naturally, it was a redwood that had been halfway in the ground with all of its roots up, so at least hopefully it was natural.
Though, the tree did help us get across this really muddy part where we almost sank a few times. It was convenient in a way...
