I am reminded a lot of Mimi from Super Paper Mario by this boss. Like at first it appears as a little person about the size of the protagonist, then its head turns upside-down and spider-like legs grow out of it and it becomes a lot bigger than before, transforming into a large insectoid monstrosity.
