I recognize this from another one of your pictures but up close it reminds me of my grandfather's shed where he kept all his gear for making maple syrup. Ah, the good old days....

The bottom part is the cellar where my grandmother kept all the food like canned stuff from our garden and a big bin of potatoes. The top part was storage. In the summer there would always be black snakes in the rafters, but that was ok because they kept the copperheads away

Wow. I'm glad we kept ours in the basement of the house! No snakes there.
