Description This is the second page I drew for Batgirl #4, which was published on November 11, 2009.

The pencilled page (by me) is on the left, awesome inks by Dan Davis in the middle, and stupendous colors by Guy Major on the right.

Man, it's good to see you on a regular book... and a fairly high profile one at that. I decided against picking up these issues mainly due to cutting back but I definitely plan on getting the trade, especially now that I realize that you are doing the pencils. The pages look great. As much as I enjoyed "Family Dynamic" I guess you made out with a good gig in the long run.

Thanks for the kind words! This is my only Batgirl issue, however. I'm not scheduled to do any others, but I obviously will if the opportunity comes up.

Aww, well maybe I'll pick that one up as a single issue. I keep my fingers crossed.

The fun attitude of the book was refreshing and your pencils added to that nicely.
Just one question - how come certain details of the suit don't match? (not really a big issue but) The leg armor goes all the way down into the boots in your version. It's not an end of the world thing but I guess for me personally it doesn't make the pants and boots fit together.

Other than that silly nit-pick, I really love your work.

Y'know, that's a good question. I was working from Lee Garbett's original "model sheet" costume design, which had the leg armor extending all the way down to the boots. That's how I drew it, but when I saw Lee's pages, he had drawn the costume differently. I'm guessing that the version that DC sent me for reference was an earlier, unrevised version. Another problem was that I had a colored copy of the costume design, which obscured some details I only noticed after I had drawn the pages.

Sometimes stuff like this happens, I guess!

No, sadly the sign didn't make it. I had visions of signs everywhere, actually, but I guess the book was too rushed for "extras".

Thanks for the kind words!
