Description
This is a photo I took of a Games Workshop LOTR Balrog. This pewter miniature stands about 3 inches tall (not counting the wings). In my down time, I assembled and painted it. The base is a miniature I built using tree bark and other modeling materials, also painted by me.Photo enhancements (lighting effects and smoke) were done in photoshop.

Awesome paint job on the Balrog miniature!
I'm not big on GW's Lord of the Rings series, but this one's just one of those models you HAVE to at least try and paint.
The lighting effects you've added work wonders too! I remember reading an article in our UK White Dwarf magazine, where a guy had actually hollowed out a portion of the torso and inserted a light!!
You've done a fantastic job of it, too. Much better than i could ever do!

I like how you painted the Balrogg (Balrog?..), is it just this one model or do have other citadel LOTR models like this? I really like the manipulation

Ooo, cool! The glow effects are just spot-on...the whole thing looks like you went on a safari to Moria and took pictures of a wild Balrog in its natural habitat! Hehe.

wow, thats well good. i used to be a mad games workshop collector unil it got so expensive, but i was more of a warhammer 40k guy.
this is cool. the painting is really good. i think its funny that games works shop finally got the rights to LOTR after ripping tolkien off for millions of years.

What a great idea, brilliantly executed, combining painted GW miniatures with some nifty photoshoppage could be a whole new medium.... or at least make my paint jobs look halfway decent
