I love the curves and light.
So feminin, so sexy.
And somehow so dramatic.
wow, this piece carries a lot of emotions for me i guess.
congrats.

I love the colors and the lines in this photo! I feel like I am in the wind in this photo... watching the breeze take me away!!!! Like when you are a kid and you are lying in the grass looking through the trees and the wind is blowing and the sun in partly coming through the leafs!!! perfect feeling!

Wow, great capture, lots of geometric shapes. What is it exactly and is the light the sun?

Yeh that's the sun. This is a canvas awning/sail thing suspended outside the city zoo here in Perth. Funky eh?

I`m now left behind with the freedom of weaving countless stories on what that could be. But I reach the point where I just fold them carefully as testimonies of my own winding thoughts, breathe in, breathe out and enjoy the photograph in my own static way. I'd even stretch and say that this is a 'visual'scented photo.

What I find is absolutely absorbing about your wonderfully rich photograph is the fact that the materials have become airborne. Their solidity has vanished. They pull us up towards a place where they are no longer so important. Like sails elevating us beyond. And yet your title, intriguing and challenging. To tantalise. It is both 'to entice' (the flash reflection), but as well 'to frustrate' (the infinity of the projection). 'To taunt' and 'tease', but 'to torment' as well. Is this flight then a mere illusion? Have we left our ports, have we embarked believing a destination is possible, without realizing that we might have been better off not having started the voyage at all? And I do not mean this or that voyage, but the actual voyage of life? Is this Icarus' dilemma, who in his desire to reach the heavens came tumbling down as no other has?

Very insightful, as ever Andres! You know I really love that people will take as much or as little from a work as they please, and I try to cater to that variability. This piece was in need of an intriguiing title that really fit it's various aspects. As such, I took a long while to study the image and came, more or less, to the same place as you. I needed a title to describe the brashness, the rich colour and the dreamy feel. It also needed to encompass the items of intrigue - the fabric disappears at seemingly regular intervals as the shot recedes, as does the bracing. I wanted the viewer to wonder about those aspects and to invite them to fill in the detail from their imagination.
The spin you propose takes things to another level. Where I am intent on a visual and vaguely spiritual response, I'm amazed to read your hypotheses for deeper meaning. I feel that one of your points really sits well with my original musings on the piece, 'have we embarked believing a destination is possible, without realizing that we might have been better off not having started the voyage at all?'. I saw such a notion early on - visually, you are invited to explore the lines and curves, yet in the end they seem to lead nowhere, or back into the image somewhere else. The physical points of embarkation and destination may well be the same, but the true destination it is the voyage itself.
