Description This was my (then) official entry for Mark Brooks' Age of Apocalypse
double cover coloring contest. To be honest, I did it more for the fun
of it, as it was both a challenge and a second to see how the Pros do it.

As for the colors themselves, I wanted to stick as *close* as possible
to the same color schemes used in the original AoA run of the
90s comics.

I even added details such as the ovals on Storm, and Rogue's
leggings. (The black ones in Storm, and purple, and black on Rogue)

Other details include the glowing eyes on Nightcrawler and Blink.
I even added extra cracked or broken windows, and if you squint
your eyes, above storm is Spider-Man in the large window, he's tiny.
This version does not include Nightcrawler's Bamf smoke since I
thought that took away from Mark and Jamie's awesome illustration.

Odly I only recieved one vote, and I appreciated that greatly.
Congratulations to for winning first place.

Thank you so much. I really want to go back and revisit this again. This one was colored with PS6 and a mouse, so I really would love to re-do it again.

Nice work!
Has a very.... 'Battle Pope' style to it. I like it!

Great job keeping it old school. And the Spider-Man cameo is awesome.

I had to come back to really look at this again. This is truly excellent work. You should feel very proud of it. I'm thinking that if there is anything that may be making some of the others stand out more--it seems to be the inclusion of more light from a light source. That's it. The play of light around the characters really gives more of a punch. Does that make sense? Your picture is true comic style and has crisp colors and excellent artistic touches included.

Hey Tim, I saw your request about comments, so I thought I'd take a closer look. I think you and I both suffer from less than spectacular previews (mine is #25). I know that mine looks pretty cartoony next to the preview of #24. Don't feel bad though, your picture looks great. I especially like your background. I also like the texture on your Colossus, but I think the low lighting takes something away. At the same time, I think my Colossus is way too light, but it's great that we have a contest like this where we can learn so much. I really hope Mark has another one.

Hey Tim! Don't feel bad, I haven't received any votes for mine either. The deviants are voting for the entry's that took out the line work. I really don't agree with that but eh... shit happens.

This has a very comic-book-color feel to it. I like it in its simplicity (though there's nothing simple to the lineart)

I run the largest Blink fanart site on the net.
I would like to add your work.
The person who drew this said I could also ready put the drawing on my site.
I want to add your colored version.
I would only list you as the colorist not the artsit.

i've never read "age of apocalypse" so i can't really comment on the accuracy of the colors. but i do like how it was colored. and both mark brooks and jamie mendoza did a great job with their pencils and inks. really cool piece overall
