So much glorious black. What a great team you have going there. It almost seems a shame to put colour down over the top!

Oh man that looks so cool....T_T I think I might pick that up after I pay off my pile of comics...even though I swore I wouldn't after Quesada forced "One More Day" through....>< My inner artist is fighting my inner writer.

This is some of the best work I've seen in a good long while, at least in terms of sequentials.
The second panel seems fairly plain and straightforward. Is that to generate a contrast for the payoff shot with its awesome detail? Trying to learn the ropes in terms of visual storytelling, and this caught my eye. Props on the mashed car wideshot, that must've eaten a few hours.
Absolutely excellent work. You guys make an unbelievable team.

Love the line work for the black transition in the first page/first panel. I hate it when you you see a black space - then some line work feathering out of it and it isn't a smooth transition. It ruins the whole point of the linework [ which is essentially a graduating gray tone if lines and cross hatching are truly doing what they're supposed to do - duplicate light and shadow ]

I think sometimes there are different approaches. Do you want a more "graphic" look, or a more shaded, greyscaled look. Even as a penciler I do ask myself this often - I think Chris and Tim manage to do both at the same time - it's uberstylized and super shaded. Always impressive!

I think you're right. I mean, the idea is to create black/gray/white art to mimic reality. Naturally, a stylistic approach is easier on the eyes [ mucha, flagg, gibson ] but the idea is all the same. These pages really do a fine job of transitioning from shadows. Not an easy task.

Thanks, Danno! Yeah, I totally know what you mean and, to be honest, Im guilty of it from time-to-time, mainly out of laziness. People have been taking the easy route on this technique for so long that its almost become the norm.

great inks, im diggin some of the newer characters that have been introduced lately, if u read the scripts and saw the lines, what do u think of the new roster of spidey villains?
