Description Organization type: Military
Leaders: Galactic Remnant Government Officials
Date founded: 7 ABY (With the founding of the Galactic Remnant).
Affiliation: Galactic Remnant -> StormTrooper Corp
Def:
Two years after the Galactic Concordance several outer rim worlds (and around two inner core worlds) still loyal to the old Galactic Empire's philosophy (Order, and Stability can be achieved via strength, and power... or so they thought) founded the Galactic Remnant. Right off the bat the new nation was attacked physically by pirates, and thugs, and they were attacked legally by the New Republic who called into question their Governmental legitimacy, stating hat they were nothing by evil dictators like the old Empire.
To fight off these attacks (from pirates, they couldn't really do anything about the New Republic) the GR founded a new StromTrooper Corps built off the StormTrooper corp of the Old Empire, but mainly built off the ideals of the Old Republic Clone Army. These new StormTroopers where seen as great protectors by their people. They were used to fight off waves of pirates, protect cities, and maintain order across the Galactic Remnant. GR Stormtroopers were not used as foot soldiers like the Old Empire sued theirs, instead GR Stormtroopers were typically used in the Military Police role, being used for security of facilities. Some Officials within the New Republic did not see it this way. They played off the fact the Galactic Remnants were calling them 'StormTroopers' as another way to compare them to the atrocities committed by both the Old Empire, and it's StormTroopers.
The Galactic Remnant tried to fight this by referring to their StromTroopers as 'Galactic Remnant Troopers', and designing their armor to look virtually nothing like the Old Empire's Stormtroopers.
This new armor was designed with advanced plastoids, and other composite materials that increased the survive ability of it's wearer by nearly 87% when compared to Old Empire's Stormtroopers. The Troopers' helmet provided advanced HUD display of it's surrounding, such as 'friend or foe' tags, and aim assist. The helmet was also designed to provide limited (roughly 6 hrs) protection from all forms of air born substances. Like the Old Empire's Stormtroopers, the helmet's lenses, and HUD system would shut down unless the trooper wearing it was assigned to it. The way the on board computer would now this was by an on board scanner that was linked up to an implanted chip the trooper had implanted in all appendages. This feature(although painful to implement) lowered the possibility of the armor being stolen, and made it easier to friendlies to ID one another. The armor also allowed the trooper to survive in space for about 30 minutes.
GR Stormtroopers were typically issued a heavy duty blaster proof shield while on patrols, or guard duty. The Trooper's standard issue weapon was a modernized E-11, but for longer ranged engagements, they were issued modernized DC-15 blaster rifle.
Not only GR Stromtroopers wore the armor, as it was standard issue for both the GR Army(which had about 15% more troopers), and the GR Marines(which was 23% bigger). The armor was usually camouflaged for what ever environment the trooper found him/her self in. At least 7 other variants where known to exist , designed primarily to fit 'un-humanly' shaped aliens.

Aim assist in the helmet. Am I smelling a soldier in the Star Wars galaxy that can hit something?!

Besides, I felt that Star Wars has some pretty advanced tech, yet they use many outdated tactics. I figured highly elite soldiers that Storm Troopers are, would use some kind of aim assist for both close quarters, and long range engagements.

Of course. I mean they have had thousands of years of intergalactic combat, light sabres, advanced cloning, laser guns, hover technology, faster than light travel, no no they still use tactics more reminiscent of the 1700s. Mass lines of men, firing aimlessly and tanking no concern for losses. And to think that was only over 300 years ago for us. Star Wars, as said before, had thousands of years to advance. About time we saw some basic ideas that work.

That's what I'm at the very least trying to do with the Galactic Remnant, but how well I am doing that is up for debate.

You aren't doing too bad I'd say. An original idea that probably should have been thought up earlier I think. You are really doing it justice with your ships though.

The sense of smell is strong with this one.
