What a lovely surprise I had yesterday. Even after everything my beloved friend has been through recently, he still finds the time to do both a collage AND a wonderful story to accompany it. Thank you, Dan, you really know how to cheer a girl up

Genevieve was your typical girl for most of her life. Exceptionally beautiful, yes. A talented athlete as well. Growing up, she was a good person, and made friends easily. Life was good to Genevieve, and she spread her happiness to all that knew her. Then, for some unknown reason, on her twentieth birthday, she started to grow.....rapidly. The doctors could not explain it, nor could they stop it. Within three months, she grew from her five foot nine inch self to nine hundred forty seven feet tall, when the unexplained growth spurt finally stopped. She became an instant celebrity overnight.

People swarmed from around the globe to see the giant beauty in person. At first Genevieve took all this in stride. She didn't let this sudden fame go to her head. She tried to keep a normal life, but she wanted to finish college, and the university she was attending didn't want her there as a student. Too disruptive, they claimed. So many influences were pulling on her.....some wanted to study her. Most wanted to exploit her great size and power. Some even wanted to turn her into a weapon for the military.

Genevieve wanted none of that. She longed to be normal, as normal as she could be. And all she wanted to do was to use her new power and size to help people, not be exploited for it. And certainly not use it to harm or kill people with her abilities. After some time, the stress of all that attention and exploitation became too much for her. She told her family she had to get away, out from among the crowds. She slipped out of the city at night, as stealthily as she could, even though even at night, she was always being watched and filmed by the adoring throngs and ever-present paparazzi.

Genevieve made her way to the coast and waded offshore down the coast to find a secluded place she could stop at, if only for a while to collect her thoughts. In the morning sun, she sat down in a secluded cove to just sit and soak up the sunshine and sit in the warm ocean water.

But of course, some paparazzi followed her. and she spied them taking pictures of her. She started to get irritated at this. Why couldn't they just leave her alone.......if only for a while!
