Description I actually made tiny pencils. I wanted to know if its possible. And yes it is.
I used mechanical pencil leads and covered them in ink then I sharpened them. They look great I think.

btw: You can see me test them out here --> Β  (memo to myself..Β  stop pretending your actually tiny )

That's one of the reasons I never agreed with tinies have to settle for oversized pens or pencils. It's much, much easier for them to just give a good kick on the pencil and use the broken tip to write stuff

TinyFeatherpants In reply to Birvan [2015-03-02 20:26:22 +0000 UTC]

Yes it is. And they can really write and draw with this stuff. I have some real equivalent to these leads. Its graphite pens. Which consists completely of graphite. www.boesner.com/media/upload/a…

I've seen them in art stores before. Not exactly my thing though because I hate drawing with dull tips

I use them on huge paper sizes while life drawing. I sharpen them with a knife. That gives great lines.

I pretty much never draw large scale

It was the first time i did too on life drawing class. But its really fun. You draw like you paint with the hand on the very end of the pen.
And all movings come from the arm. Its fun and its worth a try. ^^

Birvan In reply to TinyFeatherpants [2015-03-03 20:59:04 +0000 UTC]

Oh I did those back when I was at school too. But I'm not a particularly big fan of them because how dirty the medium can be... and how easy it was for the work get ruined by smudging DX

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TinyFeatherpants In reply to Birvan [2015-03-04 07:17:37 +0000 UTC]

Its not smudging. And its dirty. Im not drawing with charcoal here.

Might have to do with the quality of the pencil then =/

TinyFeatherpants In reply to Birvan [2015-03-04 15:03:26 +0000 UTC]

Idk..Β Β  our teacher had it on a very long stick too and never touched the paper or the graphite itself. Soo..Β  maybe its the technique too.

Birvan In reply to TinyFeatherpants [2015-03-04 15:37:18 +0000 UTC]

Maybe... I had a classmate who despite being considered the best in class (his parents were artists, so he learned stuff early) he somehow always managed to turn his desk black with smudge. Even when we weren't using charcoal or graphite 0_o

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TinyFeatherpants In reply to Birvan [2015-03-08 13:49:57 +0000 UTC]

Then I consider he did something different than we did.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Birvan In reply to TinyFeatherpants [2015-03-08 16:32:58 +0000 UTC]

Clearly, considering in classes about soap carving he still managed to dirty his desk like that

Friendlyfoxpal In reply to TinyFeatherpants [2015-03-01 21:42:39 +0000 UTC]

Hehe well i think it's awesome that you you do these kinds of crafts. You must have a lot of patience to work with something so small.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TinyFeatherpants In reply to Friendlyfoxpal [2015-03-01 21:52:08 +0000 UTC]

Actually not.Β  ^^' But it was quite easy to make them. First I used ink that contains shellack to cover the mine, then I just put the leads into the mechanical pencil and then use a pensharpener on the mechanical pencil thats how I got them sharp. It was quickly done and easy to make.
When I was a kid I made tiny wooden beds and chairs and arrow tips from molten tin.
Because my grandpa was a carpenter and had all the amazing tools and a garage where I could play around. (With saws and knifes..Β  but I never hurt myself.. hmm but my brother did once he once had an ax in his back..Β  not deep but the wood of the handle broke)
Maybe thats why I know how to build an aviary.
