Description Featuring some more content from Elbion I really should've been putting out! XD

Well, technically, not all of them are Fairies, but most of them are! Just wanted to put some more Elbion content out after I've slacked off for a bit. Project Elbion belongs to , and please enjoy!

EDIT: Now I've colored them all in! Made a few design tweaks, and hope you like it now!Β

Notable changes: - Scurrogate's new design. Decided to make it a little more simple in design, because it's a lot like Ditto. Can change into a lot of things, so has a very simplistic, but very changeable design.

- Uniscorn's "cutie mark", which is not cute at all, and is actually the same pattern Koffing has on its belly. Although it looked REALLY awkward on Monosin, so the marks are on its kneecaps.

--------------------

Scurrogate
The Changeling Pokemon
Fairy
"Scurrogate are very poor at providing for their own young, because of their wild tendencies and big appetites. So, they kidnap the young of other species, and swap their own offspring in their place. They eventually rejoin their original families after growing up."

---------------------

Bruggart
The Miser Pokemon
Fairy
"These unreasonably mean-spirited Pokemon inhabit houses, with the express purpose of causing their inhabitants as much misery as possible. As such, they commit all manner of petty pranks. One can only stop them by appointing them their new household servant."

Brownerus
The Housekeeper Pokemon
Fairy
"Brownerus evolve when a former Bruggart is shown kindness and hospitality by their new masters. Guilty at the havoc they caused, they spend most of their days happily keeping house for their loved ones. It's customary to feed them porridge to show appreciation."

----------------------

Racquest
The Questing Pokemon
Dragon/Dark
"This bizarre chimeric beast is a prevalent woodland predator, and their distinct barking is often heard before it is seen. Its calls are feared by many, and are thought to be a harbinger of ruin."

----------------------

Selkid
The Seal Cloth Pokemon
Water/Fairy
"These Pokemon wear seal skins that allow them affinity in water. However, they frequently lose these skins on accident, where they wash up on the shore. Those looking to catch a Selkid must find and return its seal skin, prompting it to join a team out of gratitude."

Sealkie
The Seal Cloth Pokemon
Water/Fairy
"It wears a seal skin that lets it hunt for fish in the ocean like seals, but acts like a human being around people. It's confirmed that they can interchange from behaving like either a seal or a human, depending on what circumstances call for."

Sailee
The Seal Cloth Pokemon
Water/Fairy
"Sailee are most at home in the open seas, and yearn to return, even for just a short time. In some point in their life, they will swim out to sea to socialize and mate with their own kind, leaving their team behind, but will always return to a trainer they truly love."

------------------------

Curgi
The Woodland Pokemon
Fairy/Dark
"The adorable appearance of these Pokemon can cause people to think that they're domestic. However, one must always assume them wild, because they can cause great harm to unaware trainers."

Massith
The Harbinger Pokemon
Fairy/Dark
"These dark green Dog Pokemon roam the woods in search of prey. If a potential victim is not in a safe place after it barks three times, it gives chase, granting them nearly certain doom."

--------------------------

Skelettin
The Shackled Pokemon
Dark/Ghost
"These metallic, two-headed Pokemon roam lonely roads at night, in search of victims. They carry not only a giant metal club, but an chain of metallic skulls they use to gather life energy from victims."

---------------------------

Berrini
The Gooseberry Pokemon
Grass/Water
"These Pokemon resemble round, feathered berries, and even dwell in trees, hanging onto them by their bills. They spend most of their time lazily drinking berry juice and tree sap."

Treecle
The Barnacle Goose Pokemon
Grass/Water
"These avian Pokemon grow together in bunches like fruits. Once mature enough, they fall into water, and have difficulty moving around on their own for a few minutes."

Barnanser
The Barnacle Goose Pokemon
Grass/Water
"Barnanser are covered in a hard armor that allows them to use their wings like shields. After mating, they lay their eggs in trees, where they will grow like fruits into new Berrini."

---------------------------------

Scapicorn
The Scapegoat Pokemon
Dark
"This Pokemon is born when a Pokemon is forced to carry the sins of others on its back. They always look like they're weighed down by something, and never let humanity forget the mistakes that created it."

Uniscorn
The Amorality Pokemon
Dark
"They are said to be the disgraced children of a Legendary Pokemon. They are imbued with the power to heal, but have a deep desire to destroy people and Pokemon alike. Only the fairest of maidens can ever tame their hatred."

Monosin
The Loathsome Pokemon
Dark
"Monosin are said to be the embodiment of sin and vice, and are often blamed by criminals for the crimes they do. However, the way they act is merely a mirror of how humans perceive them. Strangely enough, they won't lash out towards people who don't think they're evil."

---------------------------

Nuckelava
The Monstrous Pokemon
Fire/Fairy
"Nuckelava is said to come from within the depths of the Earth itself. This malicious Pokemon breathes a flammable poison that not only burns down crops, but contaminates the land, and causes droughts, leaving entire villages starving for months to come."

---------------------------Β

Echinder
The Anchor Fish Pokemon
Steel/Water
"These small but very heavy Pokemon simply crawl along the shallow ocean floor, being too dense to swim. People who accidentally catch them with a fishing rod find their boats being dragged down by them."

Anchisces
The Anchor Fish Pokemon
Steel/Water
"Anchisces search for prey, using their extraordinarily heavy bodies to hold them down long enough for them to bludgeon them with their tails. They occasionally stop very large boats from moving, via mistaking them for large fish."

I love what you did for the Scapicorn line! But no matter how I look at it, Scapicorn looks like an evil eevee. A "Dark Eevee" you could say, perhaps an anti-Eevee. Or no.......an Eeveell!!! XD Most of that was just to set-up the joke, but I do like it and it does look like a Dark Eevee(sort of like Dark Link), so maybe it's a Shadow Eevee from a mirror dimension where instead of many evolutions to make it two-stage, it has only one possibility that uses level-up evolution and has 3 stages. And instead of a fox, it's a goat(?). I know that isn't your intention, but think about how much sense it makes! It's a product of Flareon The False Prophet!! XD

Sorry if these are out-of-order and I'm not commenting on every evolution line, but I'd like to say that the Berrini line is interesting, but I don't like their design. Just personal preference, I assure you there is nothing wrong with them that I see right away. Anyway, I DO like how cute and clever Berrinni itself is though.

I love your ideas for the Selkid line too. Turning the mythology around a bit is a nice touch. But the last sentence or two in the description for Sailee is a bit vague in a sense. I'm not sure if by "..., but will always return to a trainer they truly love." means that if it is an average trainer whom it can simply get along well with, it won't return to them since it didn't care for them deeply enough. Like being friendzoned but that means you never see them again after they tell you. I don't want you to change any of it, just tell me if that is indeed the case or "truly loves" actually means "doesn't dislike". As I've expressed, there is a big difference and the implications are easy to misunderstand potentially. Also, nice idea for how to catch Selkid!

Thank ya so much dude!!

Truth be told, I think the Scapiron line was one of our more creative ideas when working on the Elbion Pokedex with my two other friends. OKIEDOKE, so it does kind of look like an Eevee, and funnily enough I never noticed that until recently! Although that strangely makes sense. XD

Meanwhile no worries dude! I mean I personally did have a bit of difficulty designing the Berrini line, so I figured it was gonna be a bit too weird-looking for some people. Really, I think I like the concept more than the final design.

In the case of Selkid, thank ya very much! I think in-game the way to get a Selkid to join the party would be by picking up its skin which is a hidden item, and then giving it back to the Selkid who lost it. And then bam, either added to your party or PC!

Although I figure, they most likely suppose that trainers who'd get along well with it are a dime-a-dozen. At that point it'd probably figure it'd lead a more fulfilling life out at sea with others of its kind. But for those whom take time to really bond with it, then they realize that there are things worth staying on land for!

I still think its a bit too unfair to have a pokemon just up and leave on you because you weren't extraordinary. And since it's a last-stage pokemon, chances are all that time and effort getting it to that point and making it that strong would have been completely wasted. Then there's the whole idea of how pokemon get out of their pokeballs. But if the trainer ever found them again, they could still call them back to their ball and there'd be nothing they could do about it. Until they did the same thing again. Don't you think that would go against everything pokemon is? Besides, there wouldn't be anyone training any of them since they'd likely end up leaving them eventually or already have. No one would like that pokemon, it would be universally hated and they'd all get the attitude of a spoiled princess because they'd know that they are the only kind of pokemon in the world that can leave its trainer on a whim and never return. Their reputation would never be good. Trainers that do have one or who have one that just evolved would probably box them forever simply out of spite rather than give them the satisfaction of releasing them. Because that would be like admitting you aren't good enough for it and it is right to just leave.Β

You know you do bring up a really good point. I mean I based a lot of this off of legends of real Selkies. How if you find the skin of a Selkie, it'll become your wife, but if it ever reclaims its skin, it goes straight back to the ocean with its other brethren.

I guess it's another case of Gameplay Vs Story Segregation, because this Pokemon probably wouldn't run away if it was actually in-game. Because heck, Pokemon in-game don't abandon their trainers.

Not to mention, in terms of its characterization, it seems to be the kind of Pokemon which is distinctly Fairy-like in nature, in that aside from being a mischief maker, it's the kind of being which truly belongs somewhere outside of human civilization. So I just thought it'd be in their nature to say "Yeah, you were nice and all, but my folks are waiting for me out there!"

Of course, that's just THEIR logic. Granted, neither of us agree with this train of thought, because Pokemon abandoning their trainers on a whim is just as bad as the other way around.

Sometimes you need to cut some bits out of the original in order to represent it more properly in the thing it inspired. A great example is the Disney classic The Little Mermaid. In the original story she had her tail violently and painfully separate in order to grow legs and by the end she ends up dead. Do you think Disney would want to keep that in the adaptation for the sake of accuracy? Creative liberties must be taken sometime to make it more fitting to the medium or in this case, fakemon. I mean, just look at Komala! Koala bears don't live in Hawaii! Creative liberties at work.

Say! In that case, do you suppose the better idea in this case would be this:

The PokΓ©mon doesn't abandon it's trainer. But they will become terribly homesick and ask to come home, even if just for a little bit. Ironically, the one way to ensure they will come back is to let them go in the first place.

Excuse me, Tipsy, but do you mind if you did a 10 thematic Pokemon picture themed on Obscure yokai? Here is the list.

Tsuntaro (Horned Boy): resembles a bearded demon with a horn on top of its head. It is good at changing into Mochi and Anpan bread. When people try to eat it, it changes into its true form and runs away. Sometimes it is eaten by someone, which frustrates it very much.

Tetsubin-kajiri (Iron Kettle Biter): resembles a spherical yokai with a beard and mustache wearing a headband. This yokai likes hardware, especially caustic casting products. It targets kettles and wind chimes, and if there is a kettle with holes in it, it must be a Tetsubin-kajiri's work.

Nokuchibiru (Field Lips): A big, round creature with huge lips. She wants to pierce her mouth, but she has no money, so she looks for gold in abandoned fields. When she sees a person, she runs away, embarrased.

(Male Counterpart of Nokuchibiru) Waraiguchi (Laughing Mouth): A yokai who is Nokuchibiru's husband. Unlike her, he appears in front of people and wants to hear funny stories. He gives people money in gratitude for making him laugh.

Kabura-daijin a.k.a. Kabura-no-otodo (Turnip Minister): A turnip-headed yokai. During the Heian period, a person appointed to be a minister was assassinated in a power struggle. Since he was killed in a turnip field, his regret possessed a turnip and brought it to life. When there is a bad politician, he appears to correct him.

Benitoro (Crimson Mantis): A mantis-like yokai. When a female mantis is killed while laying her eggs, she becomes reddish from a grudge and eats people from the head.

Nokinatto (Eaves Natto): This bagworm-like yokai hangs from the eaves of houses, dropping natto from its belly. When found, it falls down and disappears. The smell won't go away, even after 3 days.

Kana-ude (Golden Fist): A yokai resembling a golden humanoid with one horn that lives in gold mines, such as Sado Gold Mine and Izu's Toi Kinzan gold mine. When there is water lingering in mines, or when there is a cave-in, it informs people with a loud voice in advance, and when everyone is evacuated, the water overflows and cave-ins will happen. It is a mine guardian.

Makizappo (Firewood Blur): When walking on the mountain road in Kagawa prefecture, there is something that takes up firewood, comes up from behind people, and beats them. If you see it and say, "Respectable, Respectable", you will not be beaten. The identity of the striker is a stump.

Ryu-damashi (Cheating Dragon): People at shrines where Ryujin is settled and give offerings mistake this yokai for Ryujin and bring gifts to it so that it can grant wishes. Because it doesn't have those powers, it disappears after drinking and eating.

Ryu-modoki (Pesudo Dragon): This yokai resembles Ryu-damashi, but has its own ability requested from the real Ryujin. It lives at watersides of each place, administering water and watching over the safety of people. There are a lot of stories and old legends in which Ryujin appears, but such stories usually relate to Ryu-modoki.

*in Mr. Crocker's voice* FAIRY GODPARENTS!!!

Really loving all of these! Racquest remains my favorite, of course - he even looks like the kind of beastie to go "BORK BORK BORK" at the top of his voice! The unicorns are actually a close second, though - my only complaint of course being that they don't have cutie marks, but that's a matter of sick, sick personal taste.

Now that I'm coloring these guys in, I'm totally giving it a cutie mark. And it could be that same Skull-and-crossbones pattern on Koffing. XD
