This is a four minute story. So you know. =]

It was about halfway through the filming process that we realized that the subconcious influence of this video was by a game called Flower on PS3. We both absolutely loved it. It's neat how this one turned out.

This is a stop motion video using Canon G11 camera, used Audiocity and PaulStretch for audio, PS CS5, and finally, Windows movie maker to put them together (Adobe Premier? What? That kept killing my computer! I'll need a PC... moar power is needed.)

Edit: Now that I've seen this online, I'm disappointed by the pixelation. Any advice to reduce is much appreciated!

I'm just going to write stuff as I watch:

-I like how the rainbow appears and the picture becomes all color, but then it switches back to black and white and I'm not understanding the reason why.
-I like the watch changing colors
-random people show in the background while in the house which looks odd, because they're only there for one frame then gone again.
-the part outside walking gets to be a bit long. I can't tell if she's looking for something or just out for a stroll
-creepy music doesn't really fit

I like the overall concept of the video. The stop motion animation looks pretty nice, a bit jerky in a few spots but that's to be expected. No idea what to do about the quality, sorry. I tried uploading a flash animation quite a while ago and I remember that it didn't look good when I uploaded it to DA, but looked fine when I viewed the file on my computer locally. Oh well.

Thanks a lot for the constructive critique!

As for some of the things you've listed, I guess I can attribute to not understanding well enough how to explain things in a stop-motion, like from color and then back to b/w. More thinking will have to be done.

As for the walking part, yes, she is looking for something that will make the world come alive. I guess the part was too long.

Thanks for taking the time to critique!

Overall I like it. It looks a bit choppy in places, but that's hard to avoid.
In the beginning, I love how it was in black and white, then showed the rainbow in color. What would look better, in my opinion, is keep it in color or at least the rainbow. Another thing I noticed was the random poses towards the camera. It could've done without the random grins at the camera because to me it took away some of the feel from the video.
That's really the only things that I saw wrong, besides quality (which I doubt is your fault). (:

would be a lot better without all the random grinning at the camera. With the music being so serious as it is. Don't pose at the camera. Or its as if you know the audience is there. I don't know but it pulls me out of it. Where the concept is very good its ruined by that one flaw. I understand the quality was not your fault. So I won't see that as a problem

Huh, thanks for the comment. I'll keep 4th element out of videos in the future.

I really liked the concept of this. It was very entertaining for the most part.
I really didn't think the music fit. With the setting and happy (smiling) girl, it really called for something more upbeat? The quality was abit terrible but that's probably not all your fault. was this on a tripod or was someone holding it? The camera didn't seem very steady for a stop motion project. I think the stop motion would have ran much more smoothly if you had it on a tripod with someone on the camera rather than them holding it. You could get alot more shots to choose from.
Over-all I liked it nice job, love~

Thanks a lot for the comments! Yeah, I really should change the music that is in the creative commons. I'll have to search that out.

As for the photos, yeah it was on a tripod. Believe me, it would have been much more unsteady if I didn't have it.

Again, thanks.

Heh, thanks! We enjoyed doing that particular section of the film. The band and faceplate of the watch is changeable.

This seems very cool and creative. Just two things: 1) What's with the creepy music? i don't feel it fits all that much. 2) I don't get the end when the girl walks out of her house and then just keeps walking? I mean, I thought maybe she was going to bring color to the world outside. Was there something I missed?

Thanks for the comments!

Yeah, I tried to think of a music to go with it and since I'm bad at music (hard of hearing is one of the reasons), I tried to get input from other people and they all said it was fine. :\

As for the second thing, did you see the ending? The girl is trying to find something to color the world with, which is why she stopped a few times on the way there, searching.

It did, especially my sister was getting impatient, but it's understandable so I could only work as quickly as possible. :] Thanks for the favorite too!
