I really enjoy the Inktober lists that come out each year, but never am able to complete anything in October (#momlife ). Unlike all the other years where I tell myself I will try again next year, I just decided to work on some Inktober prompts even though it's November XD. Anyway, this is the first entry from Stephanie Law's list "Undying Tales." Not sure that I will do them all, but I will try to do a few.

Anyway, this is the endangered Eld's Deer being escorted by the mythological Qilin/ Kirin. I pulled inspiration from the amazing Keibul Lamjao National Park where the deer can be found, as well as from beautiful historical Ming Dynasty textiles that hearken back to early stories of the Qilin/ Kirin.
