There, Susan met with Joseph Bristol during her high school years, as they formed a romantic relationship as she was in the school's drama club with Charlene Riley the dachshund. While Joe pursued sports such as baseball, Susan wanted to be an actress, a famous one at that. Unfortunately, Charlene ended up more successful, staring in bigger budget productions in Emperion, a high-caliber city that specializes in film.

Susan however was stuck with television, particularly an awful action-drama called "Seahawk" which was about her as a lifeguard. Susan is still embarrassed with this show, though it did result in her meeting her best friend Marlene Zeola, who was her trainer to keep her in shape for future roles, as well as help her train for underwater scenes.
