It doesn't because they're just renderable splines. You could makes spline renderable and adjust the width of the splines. But once you convert them into Editable Poly, it's no longer a spline, thus adding ridiculously to your poly count.

To use something like that in an engine wouldn't you have to convert it to tris anyway though thus adding to your tri/poly count? I'm not sure...but if this is for pre-port, taking something like that should be taken into account...or at least I would think...Mr. W. told me once never use renderable splines cause they add so much to poly count and that lofts are just more efficient and easier to edit...but I don't know what this is for and with or without the hoses it's still a nice-looking model.
