He looks like that he is disappointed about Zira, because she has given birth (only) a daughter. This remember me in Henry VIII, who was disappoitned about Anne Boleyn (second wife), because she hasnยดt given birth a son.

If he did, he could have chosen Nala, the more feisty of the pride, during his reign at Pride Rock. Perhaps she would have succumbed to the tantamount of pressures, but maybe have also kept Simba quietly within her mind. Either way, Kovu was Zira's bastard son.

In the broadway version Scar tried but Nala refused, plus I think Kovu is neither Scar nor Zira's biological son. The creator of Kovu from Simba's pride said that Kovu is an orphaned cub so Scar most likely took him in because he looked like him

I can legitimately see this happening. In the wild, while lionesses are great hunters - the best - the lions are the ones who call the shot and rarely do prides cope without a male or two in the lead. Hence why Nala, Sarabi, Sarafina and the rest didn't lift a paw to Scar until Simba (a male) came to save the day.
Aside from that, great pic! The expressions are perfect! ^^
