"Oh Sukari, don't you just think Ahadi is dreamy?" Uru sighed.
The lionesses were curled up together after a busy day of royal lessons and hunting. They often spent their afternoons like this, telling one another stories and relaxing in the sunlight.
"Honestly Uru, one would think you were a single lioness." Sukari chuckled.
"A princess is allowed to have a crush! Besides, I'm not serious, I know what the rules are when it comes to my love life." Uru replied, rolling her eyes.
"Uru, you've been swooning over Ahadi for the past month now, don't think I haven't noticed. I've got a hunch something else might be going on between you two."
"Well come on Sukari, have you seen the way he looks at me? I couldn't not fall for him!"
"I've seen the way you look at him too!" Sukari laughed. Uru blushed, turning her head away.
"Even if I did like him, not that I do, I can't betray my father's decisions. So I'll dream about what it would be like having him rule by my side and enjoy the thought. Nothing more!" Uru said.
Sukari smiled at her friend. When it came to boys, Uru was not very good at hiding her feelings.
"You never know, love always finds a way..."

First post of 2023! I've been dying to draw these pair together for ages now, and I finally got round to doing it! And it looks like someone has a crush... 😏. I imagine that during this time, Uru's feelings are beginning to develop towards Ahadi, but she's still betrothed to Dhalimu, so she knows she can't pursue her love. Her and Sukari have a really strong friendship, and while Uru jokes around a lot, Sukari understands what she's hiding beneath the words.
