Taken during the start of the eclipse on 4/14/14. I'd never taken a photo of the moon in such detail before. This was earlier in the night before the moon turned blood red. Unfortunately, I didn't get a good shot of that. I used a monopod (on a remote hike) to steady my camera for this shot, but I would have needed a very sturdy tripod and a remote shutter release to capture the moon under the near blackness of the night under a blood moon.
